I talked to him about it, a couple years back. He said that working on one specific thing, and forcing himself to do it, was counter productive. If he had nothing to put down, he just wasn't going to make progress. He kept getting side-tracked by other projects that he was more interested in, and also the weekly loops and posters. And that's all fine and good, if it pays him well.
It's a little difficult to change gears from there, because he does have output, and that output pays the bills, of course, so abandoning for possible months of nothing to show for isn't exactly a stellar model, unless you've got backing like BigJohnson, or Desire, etc. But also, by doing the same thing, doesn't exactly give you room to grow. So in the past year or so, mostly after X-mas, he's scaled back the weekly loop schedule, and focused more on the Ivy short, which is seeing headway finally. He's at the 5th scene now, I think? Out of a total of 7, and just a couple of months back he was at scene 3. It's possible we might see it at the end of the year, or early next year, with my barnyard math. Not great, but could be worse.
