yeah, seems reasonable. but "have to follow the walkthrough" is something i didn't get. if it's so linear, how's that even possible? i know that hitting red options in dialogue to get to the blackmail path might seem not that obvious, but at least game popups state that not paying attention and not giving compliments to the girl get her to the cheating path while "making friends" with a black guy leads to the cuck path literally in the beginning of the game. why would one need a walkthrough? i'm not trolling, i genuinely don't understand. It's just there for the sake of it, you have to follow the walkthrough to get content you want. It's just the same thing with extra steps but the extra steps are independent of what's happening. That is why it is a chore, there is no connection between gameplay and story. Again, if it was a true free roam RPG, that would be fine, but the gameplay is linear once you choose a path.
I agree that Ren'Py lacks elements of gameplay in its default state, hopefully dev is able to make it palatable.
yes, we have a porn game which is a relatively good game by itself. truly we have no standards of making good porn games, where every single game aspect and stat plays a bit of a role in plot and porn parts of the game and also it's all good and shiny. but i doubt it means that so-called porn games should have no gameplay at all. "if you can't, don't even try" is not an attitude that makes... anything good? just mediocre. it's just about playing it safe. for pussies, if you please.Compare the "interactive" aspect of this and something like Karryn's Prison, it's completely possible to make a good game centered around porn and not have it be a clickfest with zero stakes. The major criticism with Shadows of Desire has always been that the dev planned out a ren'py VN then made it in RPGM for no apparent reason.
