Well, you gotta add that the content is also getting worse and not better. I'd day past 0.5 it went downhill as the content consists with more weird stuff. Not a fan of it.

0.8 uses the same Ren'Py version as 0.7 (8.0.3), so if you already have 0.7 for Mac, then just download 0.8 for Windows, grab the folder called game from that download en put that inside 0.7 for Mac: right click the Mac app > Show Package contents, navigate to /Contents/Resources/autorun and there replace the folder game with the one from the Windows download.
Nothing more to it
