The scenes in the game are very good. The gameplay needs a lot to be refined. In its current iteration it is very bad imo. The idea of it at its core is good, but combat encounters are longer than they should be and the difficulty is all over the place. Sometimes the enemy is a pushover the next time randomly (even at start) you have zero chance to win. I think it would benefit of being a soulslike so unfinished runs doesn't feel this shit.
It's not very obvious, but from the main menu, go down to 'shop', then inventory. As long as it's not your first run, you should have items you can equip that grant you different stats.
I agree that the game needs some work, but hopefully knowing about the equipment tab will help you with those impossible first fights.

Unfortunately, the team is working on three different games at the moment and Shana is the one they're giving the least attention to. They're still updating it with relative frequency, but it's very small updates.

Just pick attack speed and damage perks. Before each try, you can change your gear - Ez.
Nice visual btw.

That does help! Thanks.

generally game feels okay(after having at least 300 atk spd).

the weapons really need some better tooltips, at least if its one-handed or two-handed.

may grind some gear for a spell build to try that, but mana gain feels really low base and most extra mana sources also seem very realiant on either evasion or atk spd stacking.

So it seems there is a bug with atk spd. I've noticed during run I started it with almost 600atk spd but somewhere in the half of it, having items and artifacts and skills adding atk spd I start next battle with 300, next one with 280. In last fight I ended it with 80atk spd xD
My guess is, when player reaches 1000atk spd(max possible) from skills(auras), after they are finished the atk spd is reduced subtracting bonus from 1000, not the actual atk spd that there would be if there was no max. That is why the more atk spd bonuses I had the lower was my atk spd in next battles.

Oh btw, the last animation with centaur railing Shana is a bit off. The bulge is way too low, so it doesn't look like it's part of her body but rather some pouch she carries below her garage :p Game is fun in general. When I'm bored sometimes I'll just do the run just for fun, skipping scenes :p

tried to run it under linux with wine, which was not working :(
(but I'm not a wine expert)
I'm running it with proton-ge no problem (on lutris with a custom wineprefix), maybe try doing that.

Edit : I'm in no way a linux pro, but I've noticed those type of sidecroller, usually being unity games, simply don't run with wine but work fine with proton-ge.

eng 0.3c.png the new big update 0.3c :)

Changelog 0.3c:
⚖ We've added some really big mechanics - like stacks and debuffs. So we had to rebalance the whole game. We wanted to make the monsters and gameplay more varied, so now each monster in the game has abilities that can debuff Shana and lower her stats.

All monsters are now divided into paths, as well as skills.
The skills of the Hunting Path will hit recovery very hard. Arrhythmia stacks will reduce it and cause damage.
The skills of the Way of the Night will have a stronger effect on magicians. Fear packs will take away points and mana regeneration, as well as reduce the power of spells.
Tree Path skills are strong against warriors, as Root Stacks will slow down the attack speed and prevent dodging.
Just remember that Shana has the same skills as the monsters, so whatever you use on them can be used against you too!

We've added a cool new feature to the settings menu – the ability to reset your progress. That way, if you're running into bugs or old saves are causing problems, you can start fresh!

Also, we've implemented a big new mechanic – tutorial. If you're stuck and don't quite get the game's logic, look for the book icon in every window. We've got some helpful tips and guides for you. Now, even the toughest monsters won't stand a chance against Shana!

So, on the visual side of things, we've completed the second level of the dungeon. That means Shana can now taunt Azura during combat, and have some fun with her afterwards in a new scene.

- New monsters
- New taunt
- New spells and visual effects
- New music
- New sounds
- New balance
- Debuff system
- Rebalance of all rooms
- Rebalance of all old artifacts
- New passive spells

so after a quick save reset, it works and i found some immediate QoL problems: debuffs on enemies should never just be a copy of the buff on me. it should only ever list the actual debuff part that is on them. 1739483228073.png 1739483306128.png
lets use the left example: should only tell me they lost 10 atk spd.

just things i found while starting my first run.

EDIT: now that i think about it, the active buff on me also shouldnt list the debuff on the enemy probably?
