Dev Update 08/2025: Side Characters ReDesign

Hey everyone!
Since introducing Side Characters in Shattered Minds, one of your most frequent requests—whether in comments, feedback, reviews, or private messages—has been for animations instead of static images.
Well, I've heard you loud and clear! Starting with V0.19, all currently available Side Characters will now feature animations!

But that's not all!
Since many of you questioned the purpose of Side Characters, I've given them a comprehensive redesign.
From now on, fully corrupted Side Characters will offer you passive bonuses.
You can always see which bonus each character provides under their corruption status, even if they haven't been fully corrupted yet. This allows you to strategically choose which one to focus on first.

Here's a quick overview of which character provides which bonus:

• Leah (Beach): +10% XP Output from Harem Members
• Cynthia (Park): Regain 1 Mind Energy/day
• Polly (Coffee shop): +1MP/day for the Coffee Shop
• Sharon (College): Bonus through children in the day care
• Jennifer (College): +10% Money from the College
• Lillie (Gym): +10% Money from the Gym

As exciting as these improvements are, there's one small downside.
With all the extra work that is going into these improvements, I won't be adding any new side characters in V0.19.
In future releases, I'll add at most one new side character per update, and sometimes none at all.
Hope you like the ReDesign as much as I do! This finally allows side characters to blend seamlessly into the game experience alongside the other animated characters, while also providing genuine gameplay value.

I created an incest patch for this one! This is an unofficial incest patch, and has no affiliation with eXtasy Games.

Copy the "game_changer.rpyc" file into the "game" folder of your game.
Enables to enter custom roles or to choose from different presets, including "mom" at the beginning of the game.

I don't understand why after corrupting them, the MC doesn't shatter the side characters. I get that their minor characters, so the real life reason is that the author doesn't want to put in the work when there's better things to do. But there doesn't seem to be an in-story reason.

The game works and runs very well so far (playing time over 12 Hours) without any problems.

The story is quite good so far, but reminds me a little of SummerTimeSaga (but that was also great for me).

I can only hope that it doesn't suddenly end like many games here with the note: Thank you for playing the game up to this point and it continues with the next update and then there is no update for years or you can't find it!

Story ist soweit ganz gut, aber erinnert ein wenig an SummerTimeSaga (aber auch das war für mich super).
Ich kann nur hoffen, dass es nicht wie bei vielen Spielen hier plötzlich endet mit dem Hinweis: Danke, dass Du das Spiel bis hier gespielt hast und es geht mit dem nächsten Update weiter und dann folgt Jahre lang kein Update oder man findet es nicht!

Or alternatively, to send away someone in your harem so I don't have them around?

Did the Billy turn into a girl decision a while back without giving it much thoughts, and it's a massive turn off for me, but changing it would mean redoing like 2/3 of the game.

1) Hold down the control key to skip
2) Have them around? Do you mean in your home? Just talk to them and ask them to leave.
3) Just turn Billie mindless. She will stay in her home and you won't see her in the world, unless you summon her.

Running into a pretty weird glitch. Every save file after the "bureaucratic nightmare" loads me back to the bureaucratic nightmare. All of them.
Well, used the CTRL key to skip back to where I was (only about 30 minutes lost, and took only a minute to get back because I didn't have to read through it).
As far as I can tell, it looks like my save files are working.

A few minutes later, it happened again, only this time it was when I was leaving school. I tried saving and reloading and wound up back at school each time.
Not sure what is triggering it. I have reloaded the DLL from before (hoping they were right about it just being a misfire on MS Defender's part). Still getting caught in loops where the save function fails.

Two things. 1) Try running the game's .exe as an Administrator, then performing a new save. 2) If the game is installed under the /Program Files (x86)/ directory, uninstall and reinstall somewhere outside of that, like C:/Games. I also disable AV when playing most games as I find a manual scan after install to be sufficient.

I reported the same problem in an earlier post, but no one responded. At least I feel a little better knowing this happened to someone other than just me. I would be very interested in hearing a reason and solution. It's pretty damned annoying.

This is the "beta" I'm pretty sure most of the bugs (if not all) are fixed in the normal release that's been out for a week or so now at this point.

No one responded, because at that point multiple people had already posted about it earlier, found the cause for most people (outdated Shawn's mod) and a hotfix has already been made.

It also gets pretty annoying answering the same thing over and over. The fact that you haven't noticed others had had the same problem, just shows that you neither searched for it or cared to look at just a few of the most recent comments before you asked. I remember your comment and almost replied, but I simply couldn't be bothered, as I most likely also would have been a bit unkind, due to the irritation of repeated questions, not unlike how you may find an issue with the reply I give you here.

Updated my compressed Android port of Shattered Minds with Shawnchapp's mulit-mod to v0.18b.

Got some basic gestures loaded in: swipe up for save menu, swipe down to hide UI, swipe left to rollback and swipe right to skip. Save files are now stored in the Documents folder. This sometimes means that you may need to close and re-open the port after installing so the save folder is properly created.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the port and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.
