Apparently, there's a revent translation for this game by SVN but it's Machine Translated. Sounds like we might need to wait for yours if we want a quality translation.

I've played multiple bishop games translated by SVN and the quality is fine for Nukige. In my opinion, SVN is the best vn machine translator out right now and all the games are conformable to play/read as long as the story's not too convoluted.

I've looked at recordings of some of these and this is pretty true, it's like 70-80% of the way there and the stuff that's missing is usually small bits of nuance every couple lines. The biggest problem seems to be misidentifying words, whether it be a bunch of kanji strung together as a makeshift compound or one of the more difficult conjugations, which is the -chau form (the informal/short form of -shimau) or occasionally it'll break apart words or phrases in ways that are common or normal but don't make sense in context. Maybe it's because I do translation that this kind of thing drives me nuts and I just wanna go in there and fix things, which is an idea I might look into for some of these machine translated ones, after I'm done with this project.

Yeah, I can agree that this type of translation works well with nukige most of the time. It's just there's tons of inconsistencies when the translation fails to form a sentence. If you have to restructure the sentence in your head then you know there's a problem with the translation.

I've also played their translation of Kutsujoku (a Bishop title) and there were tons of problems with how they refer to each character. The girls are considered as 'he', the main character is a 'she' and they often confuse to who's doing what. For example, when it's supposed to be the main character who's doing the action, it gets referred to the other person instead and vice versa.

In another game, they have problems keeping with the character names. At one point, the character is called Ria, then she's called Lia and later, she's now Lea.

They even have problems referring to who's genitalia it belongs to and that happens to all the SVN games I've played so far.

The pronouns are one thing, but this that you're talking about isn't even hard to fix. It's literally a 5-second fix using a word replacer. It's hard to have any respect for those patches

An update -
It's June 19, and things have been going very slow this year. It probably won't get faster, I ended up picking up a lotta shit to do. My standard last year was ~40 lines a night on weekdays, which I managed to pull off most of the time, but I just can't do that right now. I'll be very surprised if I manage to finish Kyouka's route by the end of the year. Things aren't going very consistently and it's gonna be even more unstable from here on out so I can't give a definite deadline. Sit tight, folks.

TID "ass crack" is NA slang. Seems weird, I've never even heard of other ways of saying it in common language. Even the internet doesn't seem to have great answers, I'm seeing anal cleft, gluteal cleft, natal cleft, etc. and none of these is remotely as evocative as the very simple "ass crack"

My guy, don't expect quilty from an MTL translation. Sugoi is good but it's not good enough to read IMO it's still way too literal and what you were talking about on he and she.

See the problem is that Japanese is just weird with pronouns you got one like 私(Watashi) which is mostly used by women but it is in fact a gender-neutral one where both men and women can use it. On the other side, you have 僕(Boku) which is again mostly used by men but it is also gender-neutral and women can and do use it. There's also the fact they have a culture of changing which one they use based on who they're talking to or based on the period of their lives.

So it's no wonder that MTL can't keep up and even AI like ChatGPT while a lot better, still makes mistakes. (also it's a bitch to use for porn games sadly. FU OpenAI)

The R/L thing is again because Japan doesn't have Ls in the Kanas so you always have to just pick one, and if you ever read something that's translated by two different people odds are they also use different translations for the names.

So TL;DR don't expect quality when it's free and without human intervention. That SVN dude is just using Sugoi and calling it a day.

恭香「ほら……また、都合のいいように考えてっ……\n く、んんっ……そう思い込んでればいいんだから、\n 単細胞は楽よねっ……!」
Kyouka: "Hora... [again], [conveniently][thinking]... ku, nn... [being convinced of that is good][so], [easy to be so simpleminded]... !

It's a little difficult to explain the exact meaning of "tsugou no ii you ni kangaeru". Roughly, it refers to the idea that a person can interpret a situation in a way that favors themselves. In this scene, MC has his fingers up Kyouka's vagina and mentions how Kyouka is suddenly talking a lot more than she was before, implying that his fingering has more of an effect than she's willing to admit. She then tells him to fuck off and he's an idiot, but I'm not quite willing to write it like that lol

Kyouka: "There you go again... anything to boost your ego... ku, ngh... You're so obsessed with yourself, it must be nice to have such a one-track mind... !"

A very valid way to TL this.

Assuming it's one of those; I hate this, but I secretly love the shit out of it.

Keep up the good work :)

Every time I translate "chibusa" as "milkers" I die a little more inside
But Ima die before I translate it as "udders." Maybe.

恭香「ふんっ……ろくに使わない脳みそも、\n 妄想だけは得意みたいねっ……」
Kyouka: "Fuun... (even not-well-used brain matter), (is good at delusions)(it seems)..."

The sentence itself isn't too complicated, but it's a little tricky getting it to english.
"It looks like even your worthless brain, has a wild imagination... "

or not, never mind :D

恭香「馬鹿言わないでっ……んっくっ……\n 気持ちの悪い液体が、\n ぬめって音立ててるだけ、でしょっ……!」
Kyouka: "[Don't say ridiculous (things)]... nku... ["kimochi no warui"][liquids], [wet with][raising sound][that's all], [isn't it]... !"

Odd example. Kimochi refers to feelings, warui means bad. Typically, kimochiwarui means "feels bad" but is also used for disgusted or grossed out. It's a very common word for Kyouka. In this example, however, the MC is commenting on how she must like having sex because she's making wet sounds down there. She retorts that those liquids are "the liquids from when it feels bad" rather than "disgusting liquids." It's not super clear, which is annoying. It's also a little difficult to work with...

"Don't be ridiculous... nku... those fluids just mean, it feels bad, that's all... !"
