AFAIK the sentence is not public, but some people say it can be from 3 to 10 years. He went missing since December 2022 and the arrest notice was made public mid 2023. It might take a while...
The criminal code that outlaws porn (possessing, distributing, manufacturing) in China says that the maximum possible sentence is life in prison by tying it in with the smuggling law that covers dissemination of obscene materials.

porn is not the problem, it's his tax evasion which is a huge thing in China (well, every country that is).
Everyone says tax evasion but the Chinese articles explicitly say he was arrested and charged with production and distribution of obscene materials and that law is very clear in Chinese legal code. Like it's not even pretentious legal bullshit. It straight up even says 3 years to life in like 4 sentences. It's probably the most clear wording of any law anywhere in the world complete with a mandatory minimum sentence.

We all know that. However pornography also makes China money. This is certainly a case of tax evasion because a lot of chinese do porn and are not caught. The police just slapped him the pornography case but it's just because he didn't paid his dues. In fact, he has been monitored for around a year and was given an ultimatum that he ignored.
Yet the tax evasion claim I only see from randos on the internet. I'll believe the tax evasion claim if you can link a legitimate CN news site and not "trust me bro". Esp when your trust me bro is tied to some weird conspiracy that the Chinese government is making money from porn cause for that to be true, you're saying the Chinese government spends tons of law enforcement resources for less than 100k worth of taxes. They would have paid that team monitoring him for a year more money than they would have made and because like the IRS, the Chinese STA can seize your assets so why wouldn't they just take his money? What sort of logic is this? You don't need to run surveillance on someone for a year to find out if they evaded taxes. They either did or didn't.
