Development Diary #59
Time for a development diary!
As you already may know, we're working on the third update of Shuggerlain, the first one after the prologue. We could probably say that this update will be one of the most important updates (if not the most) of the game, for many reasons. In this update, you should already be able to have a better picture of the mechanics of the game than in the prologue. "Dates" will start with this update, plot will also give a better a idea of the current situation in Shuggerlain, and the navigation through the map will also begin.
As you can see on this wip map, there's no choice after the prologue. Ashtera is a peninsula as we already explained, so the first step is just advancing to Dynae's nation: Yalen. But after that you'll be able to select the roadmap. Well, let's be honest, as this is the development of a game (not a completed game yet), all of you will advance through all the nations before reaching Arax Capital as we release update after update, but in the final game it won't be totally necessary. Similar to Space Paws in some kind of way.
Anyway, here it is the usual task list and its status for the update v0.16 of Shuggerlain:

P.S: About the map, Arax nation is clearly the biggest one of all Shuggerlain. The rest of the nations will have similar size to Yalen.

devs currently working on the last h-scene. I knew that that tanned girl could be one of me favourites and her ass is all I needed to confirm it. Not release date confirmed yet but I'd say that in november we could have a new update. Crossing fingers!

That seems to be the only professional music in the game.
All others appears to be simple medleys from one of royalty-free archives. That is smart choice because TaifunRiders are unlikely to hire someone at Andrew Hulshult skill level and some mediocre musician commission wouldn't beat royalty-free music.

Thanks! But I really doubt that the battle's theme is not professional. It's very powerful. Taifun Riders already bought some music rights like in the endings of space paws. I asked for the author of Nebet's final theme and they replied me (sorry, too lazy for remember now the name lol) but it was made by a professional pianist.
To me, Shuggerlain music is even better than in Space Paws. And this usually means paying more.
It's just a simple generic riff and the audio mix sounds like hobby musician edit. Yes, it may be commissioned music, but it also may be some hobby music uploaded on the Internet as well as some free archive. Don't underestimate royalty-free archives, they've got cool music too.
Unfortunately I don't see music mentioned in game credits.

Development Diary 60
It's been a month since the previous development diary and it's time to keep you informed about the status of the update.
Well, basically, the art stuff is practically all finished as you can check on the next list:
-New characters - 5/5 DONE
-New H-scenes + Alternative views + climax animations 5/5 DONE so far
-Animations for sex battles - 14/14 DONE
-New Unit for battles - DONE
-Shuggerlain map - WIP -Background - 5/6 DONE
-New Battle - DONE
-Other adjustments, improvements etc - WIP (most of them already done though)
-Credits - WIP
So we're basically finishing details and the map. We have to say that 5 H-scenes of Shuggerlain take more time that 5 Space Paws H-scenes and this is basically for two reasons 1) climax animations 2) Alternative views / close up views on the H-scenes.
With these 2 improvements we added on Shuggerlain we could approximately say that they need around 50% more of work, but I think the most of the players appreciate these improvements and that's why we're going for them, but there's no magic, they need more work.
Soon, we should create the usual development diary before the update telling you that all the art stuff is done and now we're building and polishing but we prefered to keep you already inform of everything.
Apart from this, we'd also like to announce a couple of things. First of all, we're counting with some voice actresses for the H-scenes of the game. Dynae's voice was performed by Mizzypeach on the h-scenes you've seens so far. And we're currently talking with some more VA for Luth, Nadine and Saraith voices. Not text so far, just the moanings for the H-scenes, but maybe we'll add some voice when you activate skills in battle. All this will be in the credits.
And finally, thanks to the help of our patron and proofreader WIBigDog, soon we'll be launching our Taifun Riders' official discord server!
We felt that a discord could be a better place to talk about the game and its development than commenting just on the post on patreon. And there'll be a better place to help to other fans and in general chatting.
We think this is also something many of you will also appreciate
