A quick look at what's coming in the new update.:love:
(All the teasers were posted earlier by comrade Barrazin (y) - huge thanks to him! If you haven't seen them and don't want any spoilers, then it's best to refrain from watching;))

Dev said in his patreon post to NOT leak this update too early.
Lets see how many days or hours that's going to last..
The sooner the better, I don't really enjoy getting fucked and getting the same release date as public after buying the game on Itch

Honestly, I don't know why that changed. Itch.io (even Steam now) are paying the same as the high-tier Patreon members. All throughout the game's cycle, Itch.io got it the same day as launch. Steam hasn't been available long enough to know the full details on that side. I mean Itch.io does come with Steam keys but that doesn't' really make up for a month's delay.

The ONLY thing extra I can tell Itch/Steam get are "extra translations" which are Chinese. No other bonuses that I can tell.

The Steam API and achievement systems are additional work, but I don't think it's that much. It's probably a privilege for Patreons, since they're paying so much more.

Isn't Steam and Icth a one time payment, whereas Patreon is reoccurring?

You can do that but you can also pay only for the month that the game releases and get the game and stop after that and in that case it would be like a one time purchase but you also can support the dev continuously but that's not necessary to get the game but that really helps the dev to continue making the game.
Some people just don't like the way Patreon handles things and prefer to buy on steam or itch.

But what you are talking about is supporting at the tail end of the game's development, which isn't really what Liberty was talking about, so kind of pointless to my question. To make it more clear. Liberty complained about paying the same, which isn't true for most supporters, so one should expect to see a difference on the different sites.

That's true but the comment above Liberty and Liberty himself was talking about why do people who buy on Itch should wait for public release when they are paying the full price of the game.
And my point was although some people support the dev throughout the development of the game and spend more money, you can also get the game on Patreon the day that releases if you become a Patreon whether you have supported the dev before or not so it doesn't make any sense that they should delay the release for Itch or Steam when you can simply get it on Patreon the day of the release without having supported the dev at all.
