Usually if you wait the 30 seconds or so it suggests and refresh it will all work again. I am guessing it is a very busy site with a large database and it can be tough to keep it all working properly.
Generally it works pretty well, considering, especially when you realize it is pretty much all volunteers and they work off donations! That message you get should go away once it stabilizes again.
