If the quality of the visuals is high, we can forgive some clumsiness in the translations or the use of cliches. But real people often use cliches when they speak.

Just curious - why is 'sleep tight' a cliché?

Yea, early on the MC almost banged his drugged mom (rubbed his hard cock up-and-down her moist slit) and now we have to wait how many more updates? for him to stretch his overly busty mom's tight hole! The dev is nothing but a cock-teasing blue-baller!

You could sex her this update but you have to use the power on her earlier at their dinner date, but her romance route is more of a slow-burn.

Probably more just a trite expression. "Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite." is the original phrasing, back when it was shiny and new in your great-grandparents' time. To be honest, if a beautiful woman was looking at me like that, I probably would lose most of my linguistic ability and just stammer something out...

Thanks for letting me know - will have to let my wife and daughter know ... :D

Although my little one's an adult now (and a commissioned officer to boot) she still likes to hear it from her mother whenever they are on the phone. For us it ain't old-fashioned - it's comfort and consolation whenever shit hits the fan.

Still better than the ideas you had.

I could get my most powerful vibrator, set it on max and stick it on my keyboard and it would come up with something better than "notices he has a nice cock" that is so cliche other cliche plots mock it for the bitch it is.

Your ideas are why I always tell devs to never use plot points from players.
Yet that's one of the first things the mom thinks to herself when she noticed her son's erection. It wasnt my idea, in fact she goes on saying (to herself) why am I all of a sudden getting aroused => this is not 5 min in the game. No sorry it was: "it's so huge" (not a nice cock), yes that's a much better reaction..

My point was not that he had to change it to nice cock, I was trying to quote what the dev said in the game but really "its so huge" isnt much better. My point was the progress between them was going way to quick.

edit: and btw you used the worst example to try to pick apart what I said, kuddos! But yh it's clear trying to help people or having ideas is def not something you wanna do on this website.

Perhaps I'm just paying attention more because of the discussion here, or perhaps I'm just farther along in the story and there was more of an edit on these updates, but I actually find the conversational language between the family members to be more realistic and natural as we move along ("sleep tight" being an example). The porn dialogues and monologues are a little more artificial, but we don't have a realistic model for such conversations (assuming the percentage of mothers who talk about and lust after their sons' equipment in real life is much smaller than the percentage of mothers in F95 games who do so).

While we can all agree the writing isn't Shakespeare, the fact is it doesn't really need to be. The best thing about this game is the visuals, mainly the two women which are extraordinarily hot. This game is fap material, nothing more. If you want deep, well crafted story lines with top notch dialogue, there are at least a dozen other games on this site I can recommend.

Cliché really just means that the phrase has lost its impact / potency from overuse in common speech. Something like "strong as an ox" once was probably a vivid metaphor and worked really well, but it's been used so much that, while the meaning is understood, it doesn't leave the same impression it once did.

Sleep tight is just part of a rhyme that's been around for awhile now; I'd expect it to still be around in some families. Whether one uses the phrase and another doesn't has more to do with the types of culture within the family: some families tend to like classic literature, nursery rhymes, and movies while others prefer pop culture for their entertainment.

Because a cliché is in common use, a lot of writers will include it in dialogue on purpose. Whether intentional or not, I don't think there's anything wrong with a character speaking with the occasional cliché. Obviously they shouldn't use nothing but clichés, but I would even go so far as to say that a character never using trite phrases here and there risks sounding unrealistic.

WaltS, this is meant just as a helpful tip; please don't take it as criticism. I really enjoy the game and don't find the dialogue or descriptions bad.

If you're going to use a well-known quote, I would suggest one of two things. If the quote was originally made in the English language, you should find the actual quote and use that. If the quote was translated into English from another language, find the most commonly accepted or distributed translation in English and go with that. (I would suggest the same for translations into other languages as well, of course.)

For instance, when quoting Isaac Newton's third law (esp. to tie the quote to the postman), the current in-game text (on the render and in the dialogue box) reads, "To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction". That's a good and accurate translation. The original quote, however, made in English, was actually "to every action there is always an equal and opposite, or contrary, reaction", and the commonly used variant of that in English is "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction".

As another example, if you were to quote René Descartes' proof of self-existence, the original quote is in Latin ("Cogito, ergo sum") and was first translated as "je pense donc je suis" into French and from there into English as "I think, therefore I am". So, although it could also be rendered as "I think, so then I am", it sounds strange to an English audience who have learned it with "therefore" rather than "so then".
