This is what I've picked up out of my back-log this time. Mainly because the art looked hot. That said, I didn't really have high expectations given the dev's previous game. I played the Saikey TL, and honestly, this game isn't really good enough for me to make an effort to check out Dazed's TL too. I will note the fact that the version here on F95 is
not the latest version, so it's missing some QoL features, some translated bit, some bug fixes and some gallery improvements.
That said... that alone isn't, imho, enough to really make this thing better. At least, not for me. I'll get into it all as we go, as per my usual crazy rants.
Those screenshots here sum-up the essence of this game's story quite well. This is fairly typical BSS nonsense. Guy likes girl. Guy lacks the balls to tell her that. Other guy swoops in a dicks her retarded...
At least, that's the
core of the story. However, as with most things, it's the details that make and break things.
In the protagonist's case, you won't see anything particularly original. He's an otaku-ish guy. His main two best friends are also otaku and at least one of them is the kind of idiot pervert who can't keep his mouth shut properly in public (which doesn't help MC's image). He sucks at physical activities, of course. No real info is given out about his grades, but given how he talks about a guy with good grades, it sounds like he's average at best. Basically, that sums him up the most. Average, in all aspects. Even in his main hobby, gaming, he seems to be average, and needs to try-hard to reach a level that can be called good.
The main thing he's under-average in is the fact that he has zero courage, or perhaps negative courage. So of course, trying to ask a girl to be his girlfriend is inconceivable.
Normally in these plots, the girl(s) that is the target of our soon to be cuck's affection is unreasonably hot, and usually popular, or outgoing, or with a bright personality... or any number of things that make her stand out easily and make her an improbable fit for the guy pining after her, at least, when said guy is an otaku type.
Ayaka, the girl in this work, is a tad different. While she's still unreasonably hot (it's hentai, what did you expect?), she's also an otaku type girl herself. She likes anime and manga. She's a hardcore gamer. She's in the library club. She wears glasses. Her hair isn't stylish. She slouches. Her clothing is plain and concealing. She has the social skills of a concussed lemming. She tends to duck her head so her hair covers her face. She doesn't speak much and stutters so it's hard to tell that her voice is really cute. Basically, aside from the unreasonably hot bit, there's nothing
really stopping the MC from asking her out, especially when the originally bond over their hobbies and playing totally not Apex.
They're friends for
a whole year before the game even begins, and the MC is still ultra-pathetic about potentially asking her out. Then the game does a whole lot of things to showcase how pathetic he is. There's a whole sequence near the start where he's going to school and talking with this one pervy dude friend of his, and she boards the train too and he doesn't even say hi to her or anything. Just ignores her. There's several moments where he worries about "it being embarrassing" to be seen with her or whatnot.
Quite frankly, forget about the romantic relationship... this guy sucks at being a regular friend.
In comes our would-be bull, who's a dedicated womanizer and who notices that "Hey, this girl's actually really hot and she has huge tits too!", so of course he wants to get in her panties. Shou happens to be the ace of the soccer team and a guy with great grades too. He starts figuring out how Ayaka ticks, and then, unlike a lot of other set-ups of this type, he doesn't rape or blackmail her... he romances her, he builds up her confidence, he shares in her hobbies. If not for the fact that he's a douche who's intentionally training her into a fuck-toy, he'd have potentially been a good BF. However, in reality, he doesn't seriously care about Ayaka, but keeps pursuing her because she's a nympho and basically the 1st girl he's met that might actually exceed his sex drive. Even then, he has no intention of having her as a girl-friend or wife or anything like that, because monogamy doesn't matter to this guy. By that same token, he doesn't expect her to be monogamous either, though he does want her to prioritize him.
Still, aside from the pathetic set-up... things start slow. With the guy talking with her, complimenting her, reading the things she likes, playing the game she loves and turning out to be great at it, helping her study... He puts a
lot of effort into it, though the SNS thing messages make it pretty clear that it's mainly because he wants to fuck her, not because he cares. Regardless, he does a lot of effort to interact with her IRL, and doesn't care what other people think about it and doesn't let them get in his way. Unlike the MC who, as mentioned before, can't be assed to even say Hi to her on the train...
I'll detour here from the story to talk about the "gameplay", such as it is. The gameplay is really just running around the school and trying to find Ayaka. There are two opportunities to do this. One is during lunch-break and one is after-school, but before leaving home. (Can't just go home with the girl fam, might catch cooties!) If you can find her before Shou does (the game implies that more people than just Shou might try to talk with her, but that's not the case, it's always just him), you can get MC to interact with her, and if you do, you get 5 seconds to pick an option and they're not always in the same order. One of those options is just to greet her, the second is to have a conversation with her, then there's an option to Ignore her and the fourth is "Lacks courage to even talk with her"... That should tell you
volumes about this guy... If the timer expires, the game defaults to ignoring her btw.
If you pick Converse, you build-up some Affinity with Ayaka. Shou also has his own Affinity value, and it starts lower than the MC.
You might
think that the game is all about building and keeping MC's affinity higher or something. Or you might think that the difference between their affinity matters in some way... However, you'd be wrong if you think that. MC's Affinity only matters until you hit 100. At 100 Affinity, you can get the coward to confess to her (or at least try) and depending on how much time has passed, you'll get an ending. The ending split has nothing to do with stats or anything, but simply which events have occurred.
Ending A occurs if MC confesses to Ayaka before she loses her virginity to Shou.
Ending B, which is nearly identical to A, occurs after the virginity loss, but before she becomes super-slutty and is marked by a scene where she spends time in class with a dildo in her and then gets fucked in the toilet.
Ending C is after that scene and a second make-over, and has its ending point with Ayaka's 1st porn video with Shou (which the MC sees but doesn't recognize it's her).
Ending D is after that, when Ayaka's a total, cock-gobbling slut, but it's implied to occur only until the last scene where she basically agrees to become Shou's sex-slave. In this one, MC catches her getting fucked by Shou and is (sorta) forced to accept her as a slut if he wants to date her (which he still does).
There's technically another ending, marked by the two epilogues, that seems to occur if the MC does
not discover Ayaka's situation. Ends up marrying her, and it's implied that she's a total kinky slut for him, but she also keeps fucking Shou behind his back because she can't live without Shou's dick. (Shou's also still fucking around himself.)
Basically, the story is linear and the ending depends on when you decide to stop it, so to speak, assuming you can build up enough affinity in time.
In addition to this, the gameplay also involves collecting "Information points", which you get by clicking on students with purple speech-bubbles while at school. You also get them at times from people that interrupt the MC on his way to talking with Ayaka. The information points are used to unlock a magic tracking app that tells you various things about Ayaka. You'd
think that this is meant to further force you to split focus between interacting with Ayaka and collecting these Info points... but... uh... it's
trivially easy to collect huge amounts of them. I unlocked everything except the gallery and still had 977 of the things left... >.>" This is partly because, as part of the tutorial, you have an infinite lunch break, and you can farm infinite Info Points during that bit because the students with purple speech bubbles refresh as you move through maps. I recommend MC's class for grinding them.
ANYway... If you've played the dev's previous game, you'll know what to expect from the magic phone-app. Press Q and you get a status screen with whatever features you've unlocked. Also, at times, it shows you "videos" of Ayaka getting fucked. What's neat about this is that this
always works. There are MC sequences where you can bring it up, and it shows what's happening to Ayaka. A particularly amusing example is when MC is at Comic-con and walks around with her, and if you bring up the status screen, it shows a close-up of her butt with anal-beads sticking out, and then shows as they gradually start slipping out more and more until they fall out as she cums, all with him being none-the-wiser about it.
It's
hilarious, too bad that the game
doesn't tell you that you can do this. Not all events have something hot to show you. Most don't, especially early on, but it's weird that the game doesn't tell you about this detail...
Speaking of the gameplay. As Ayaka's sluttiness progresses, she's supposed to end up fucking around school if McCuck-kun doesn't find her in time, but that never happened in my playthrough. I dunno if that's bugged, or just not part of this version, or what, but I honestly don't care enough to find out. Those sequences are not
that good tbh...
Regardless, the gameplay is just a chore. My recommendation is to cheat affinity and info-points, and then start getting the endings whenever you want while you progress through the linear story. The gameplay is
not interesting and your ability to find Ayaka or not is determined by pure RNG. Her habits are weird, and more importantly, the gameplay has no real connection to the story. By that, I mean that you might have lunch with her via gameplay, only for the linear story to then trigger an event where the MC did
not have lunch with her, on the same day. It's absurd. It makes the whole thing feel utterly pointless, because at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how quickly you can reach 100 Affinity with the MC. Nothing else does. Once you do that and unlock all the app options, you're done. You can just skip the gameplay and just read the story as it moves forward and then trigger the next ending variants. Oh and watch the smut, obviously.
Basically, as a game, this thing
fails utterly. If you want a game that's an actual game with your smut,
don't bother with this one, it's totally not worth it.
The story is not great either. Like most BSS idiocy out there, the MC is in the position to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, basically. I dunno about other people, but I can't sympathize with him at all, and the only reason you might want to prevent Ayaka from being taken by Shou is because Shou's a dick. That said, even as a total sex-obsessed dick, Shou
still makes
significantly more effort to help Ayaka with her issues and in general to make her happy. He never
actually forces her into anything, always gives her the option to say no and even lets her have the MC if she wants too.
That's, in some ways, the biggest weakness of this thing's writing btw. Ayaka's love for the MC. No matter which ending you get, she
does make an effort to make him happy and be with him. Even at her sluttiest, she's still a total slut for him too, even when
she lets Shou bully him so they have more time to fuck together. The writing doesn't really make it clear
why she loves him so much, after all the time she spends with Shou and all the other guys she meets and gets fucked by. That bit of the story is honestly very weak. It's more like an obsession rather than love, but even in that one epilogue, she states outright that if she was forced to choose between being with the MC or Shou, she'd choose the MC in the end, though she greedily wants both.
Moving on. The H-scenes at least are pretty hot. I like the art-style and all that and Ayaka's design and progression is nice. The game does a good job with the passage of time, if nothing else, and the escalation of the scenes doesn't feel forced in the way it feels with many other games of this type. Even so, there's... a lot that's been half-assed tbh. There's a great deal of description of foreplay and other things that doesn't have
any CGs at all. There's a
no tit-fucking scenes at all (though it is mentioned once), even though Ayaka's Nr1 feature is supposedly her huge tits. (There's a nursing hand-job at least, I guess...) There's no actual anal scenes, even though there's a whole bit about her being trained for anal. No DP either even though she gets involved in orgies, supposedly repeatedly...
In general, there's a high feel that there could be a
lot more, but the dev just didn't go all the way for whatever reason.
Still pretty hot for what you get, but it falls short of being genuinely amazing.
The game has an unfinished air to it tbh. There's hints that there should be more guys pursuing Ayaka. That the numbers in the status screen should do more than just be there for flavor.... I don't know if the dev had bigger ideas that he gave up on or if something else happened... but the end result is a VN in RPGM that tries to pretend to be an actual game. Which it's not.
The end result is an ok time waster with some hot scenes and whatnot, but that's it. Something of a disappointment for me, because it feels like the dev didn't learn much from his 1st project. In some ways, this game is
worse than his 1st one, because the gameplay is even more tedious and becomes utterly pointless once you have 100 MC Affinity. Oh well. Not the worst way to waste some time, and at least Ayaka's hot and her progression is hot too.
