So finally played this game and I have to say, Episodes 1-4 were an absolute slog to go through and at times were superfluously dragged out for exposition. I get that it's supposed to establish the characters and do some world building but idk, it felt a bit boring and could've played out more interestingly. I get that the first few eps were all set ups leading to bigger payoffs but my complaint is it could've been presented better? However, the story, in my opinion at least, got me hooked, engaged and invested around episode 5. Probably cause that's were characters were developed more and the "main plot" finally started rolling as well as the lore dumps unfolding.
Besides that, I don't think this game is that dark (so far at least)? I get there's death, decapitation, torture and trauma but it's probably just me but I've just seen more gruesome and fucked up stuff. Maybe Dark light is better for this game but don't get me wrong, its good enough so who am I to complain.
Also, is My Bully Is My Lover and Sicae set in the same universe? Haven't played MBIML yet and just wanted to know if it is. Im already aware that how great MBIML is based on reviews but just hesitant to play it still.
Anyway, Jess and Lisa, as well as Yuna (in the later episode), actually have really good character designs from an aesthetic, symmetrical and structural standpoint. I wish the other girls will get that same glow up in future episodes.
Lastly, I played this game in a single sitting btw so idk if this was intentional or not but did the MC's personality change that drastically in a span of im guessing a month or a few weeks? I know his appearance did but compared to the previous episodes he was more quiet, reserved and trauma paralyzed but now a lot more witty, boisterous and easygoing?
Is it because he got more comfy around the people near him or some other thing? Is it more of his younger self bleeding out into his older self? Just find it jarring how it shifted, same goes with how the tone shifted too between the early episodes to the current one. I get characters can change as the story progresses but this one was just sudden.
With that said, good thing he got rid of that yee yee ass haircut

i feel like this is one of the games that would benefit from a rework. as others stated earlier episode 1 to 4 is a pain to get through and the earlier MC look is quite off-putting. i also don't like how the timeline works out. you go out on a 2 day work break and suddenly a ridiculous amount of things happen. aurora seems to be completely forgotten as a character and same goes with alice. unless the dev has something planned for alice witch at this point HAS to be the case, her being just an ordinary person seems like a huge plot hole. also i played this a long time ago but wasn't shina and ken made a couple at some point? now that seemingly is no longer the case.
The game has already undergone rework and revision. I am not doing it again to waste time on something I can rather fix on later episodes.
Also there are stuff that aren't tackled in the game yet, like Aurora and Alice, so please don't get ahead of it. There's only much I can tell in an episode. The story is still in it's early stage, have patience.
And no, Shina and Ken aren't couples. That did not happen in any universe.
Those are times when I still lack in every department, but I seek to improve as I go on.
As the gentleman said in the above post, it could benefit from yet another rework, but I'm not doing it again. All that's mentioned goes to MBML as well.
His concept did change along with the change of the concept of the story.

for some reason i have a vivid memory of there being a scene where the mc encourages ken to go after her or something along those lines. maybe it was some other game.
when does this scene occur? i didn't see this in my playthrough.
Hmm, if you had followed the game since its initial release, that might have been Ken and Lisa. They were meant to be couples in the old story(LCC). Yeah, the story has been revised many times in an attempt to save it from the bottom of the pit. As to why some people could point out sudden changes to most things.
