I dabble in Twine occasionally, but it is the first time I almost did not recognize the engine being used, except for the standard sidebar/save menu.
I am genuinely impressed.

While I'm disappointed (but understanding) no new corruption levels were added with 0.2.1, I do want to elaborate on some things that I found (besides Lina not getting a codex update with your choice of upgrade):

actually pushed to the forefront one of my previously nagging worries: Battle speed is too slow. It was manageable even with two squadmates and two enemies taking turns, but past this point it's getting out of hand- I actively started tabbing away after I took an action with three squadmates during the two armored drones + hazmat encounter, because each turn was taking forever.

2. I checked the options for Lina's upgrade paths and I actually am kind of non-plussed at how weak the mech upgrade path is. You lose the teamwide damage amp and instead gain... a weak AoE? I have a feeling that the list of choices were to force the player to pick between the potential for sexy funtime and raw firepower, but the upgraded drone path feels a little pointless (unless there's a story reason not yet forthcoming), and the mech choice has the same numbers as the sexbot path (and the upgraded drone, as it so happens). There's probably a lot of tweaking that needs to be done going forward numbers-wise.

tl;dr: Battle/animation speed needs to be sped up past a certain point, and Lina's upgrade paths need some numbers balancing
I suspected this is something that would eventually happen as the amount of monsters and squad members increase the length of turns. There is a matter of taste here as well, between players that want a faster experience, and those that like the visual experience the current pace provides.

My guess is that the best way to go around it is to add a new option in the settings for faster combat turns that brings individual turns to something like one second per actor. It's not going to be an easy task to add it, but I do think it's a good feature to add to the game.

In regards to your second point, first, the upgraded drone path is here because some players requested to keep Lina as a drone. It's just there for those that want to keep her that way. Overall when it comes to her upgrade paths, the intent is indeed to have the mech be more of a damage oriented upgrade path, while the other one gets the benefits of extra sexy times.

One of the reasons the damage hasn't been tuned to higher numbers in this release was to see how things would work out with three squad members and what feedback we would get about it.

Balancing things in the game has not been so easy when the scaling has to go from solo to x amount of squad members, but I think once some points have been looked into, there is room to review some of these skills (especially for the mech) and make them more impactful.

Really enjoyed the update. One complaint: Lina talking about not being able to enjoy my companionship should she get the mechs body.

That is bullshit. I'd especially clank her like Adam Sandler with that car in Eight Crazy Nights. That is a sexy mech, what can I say.

Its sugarcube, main work done by Javascript. There are some games where devs have created even RPG maker like games with this.
