Lmao, I remember back when they were making their original game the devs terrorized me. They literally looked up my grandma on Facebook using my name from my patreon subscription and threatened me. I probably still have the emails in my old account. I hope they fail again, go bankrupt and become homeless. Fuck them.

The original game has been abandoned for some time now but they're still raking in almost $200 a month at the moment. Crazy story, though. Why did they send you those emails in the first place?

Let me guess, that was some time after 2.4 release? There was a clear change of hands sometime after June of 2017, every release after 2.4 was buggier and the communication was different. My theory is that the original developer, Marune, was muscled out of the game and forced to turn over the login credentials to the Patreon and the banking information for the account the money went to. I'm dubious that he survived this hostile takeover just because his dev name and his style of programming hasn't surfaced in any project in the years since. Marune lived in a part of the world where the local mafia forcing people out of a successful business to suck the revenue out of it is normal behavior. Around that time the development blog went silent, messageboards Marune posted on went silent, but the Patreon started seeing an uptick in standard pump-and-dump messages letting Patrons know that an update was coming, they were working on bugfixes, etc., and the grammar and wording of posts was dramatically different. English was always a second language for Marune, but he got his point across pretty clearly and was articulate. The new guys that took over were really poor English speakers and writers.

This is most insane conspiracy I think I have ever heard. So let me get this straight... you think a criminal organization murdered the original developer and stole his computer and passwords to take his patreon money?

Why jump to such a dramatic scenario first though? He could have simply died, leading to whatever surviving family he had trying to keep the income going.

Ever travel to any of the former Soviet Union countries? It's honestly not that insane. I'm not saying that I'm not crazy, I'm just saying that this theory isn't crazy. He was earning $6k a month at the time for programming a game, which is well past the the threshold to trigger your friendly neighborhood Bratva wanting to get a piece of that easy grift.

i do remember the quality of the updates dipping suddenly but still, you're reaching pretty hard. how would they even know he was developping a porn game in the first place? i'm no developper myself but making flash games is pretty specific right? does the russian maffia have amateur porn game developpers on retainer?

You don't need to know what someone does... all you need to know is they earn good money.
It's really not hard to find the flow of money if you are well enough connected (as in haveing an inside man in a bank).
Not saying this happened but do you really think that criminals couldn't come up with the most basic and common knowledge or use their imagination to try their luck with a Hollywood worthy story?
There is also a chance he was just offered some money or face the consequences and since the game wasn't going anywhere he simply took the money as an easy way out

I'd suggest we take any further discussion of the old game and its developer over to that thread, but I will say this before I drop it: I (like a lot of folks at the time) was in touch with Marune, the SimBro developer, prior to his disappearance. This was over on the Newgrounds and Legend of Krystal forums, which was all we perv gamers had back the in day before F95. Something changed in the summer of 2017. And the people running the show after that weren't friends or family of Marune. For a while they tried to pretend Marune was still on the team, but when called out on lies and discrepancies as compared to older conversations with the actual Marune they got very aggressive or they shut up entirely. A team of shitty coders took over the project and every update had more and more bugs, really rookie-mistake kinds of bugs. And Marune, who was 34 years old at the time, hasn't resurfaced for another project in the seven years since then. It's a lot of little things that led me to believe what I believe, but I'm not going to drag out the Pepe Silvia wall of red yarn to try to connect all the dots here, there would be no point.

P.S. THIS game is looking good so far, and I cannot wait to see it develop further.

The original Simbro is why I think Dark Cookie and Runey sold their games to a third party SummerSaga is def abandoned in my opinion

I came here to joke that "I wish the mafia would take over this dev too, perhaps that will improve the development pace", only to see that it's been such a long time that people are now treating this take as a conspiracy theory.

So is the glory hole completely nonfunctional at this point? Also client reputation?
A lot of things are not finished/working yet, lot's of placeholders/WIP (Work In Progress)
Gloryhole and Reputation is just some of them.

Other WIP's are: Cheat functions, Alice's story, Eva's Story, multiple floorplans and maybe others I can't recall atm..
I concidder their WIP's a teaser of what to expect later, but doesn't mean for next version or even the next after that.. it simply means: Sometime if the future when they get to it! :p
