If he had an update ready and wanted to release it, he would have done it already. Look at his last patreon posts before the countdown, all filled with promises of update being ready/about to release so that he can lure some subscribers to pay him in hope of an update.
Dev posted something earlier today. a long text post about why it takes him so much time to make an update, and the f95 people gets the game for free but complains a lot hahaha He deleted it
This guy deserve a hammer treatment in patron. No way you can do your subscribers. Nowdays it just get a trend to lure money by giving false facts about works. And people are also so fool still now how things really work and they can't identify what right or wrong. Trust me, no one, I mean no one care about you what you spent on patron goes in a dev pocket. More or less if update come out your penny might worth it but if not you get in scam.

after 1.5 years, who needs a countdown for anything? Also many members here on f95 forum also support creaters when they can. But the dev keeps repeating same BS with nothing to show for.

He used a countdown timer just to trick people into subscribing, but the number of subscribers only went from 127 to 128. He actually thought this trick would keep working to get a lot of people to subscribe.
