While I agree with the fact that the MC being reticent about pursuing the obviously interested girls is getting a bit far fetched, it is no worse that what you would see from many (if not most) MCs in most anime/manga. Granted, most adult games are a bit more true to reality than this. If a hot girl like Becca is openly throwing herself at you and there is no blood or legal relation, it is not very realistic that a man would hold back due to moral reasons.
Another thing that confuses me is his regular mentioning of the fact that what he is doing could land him in jail. This thoroughly confuses me. What is illegal about having consensual sex with girls you are not related to??? Perhaps in some incarnation they are not of legal age? But that doesn't really make sense either because they are in college, so I don't get it.

I'm beginning to think that people who hold this opinion don't understand the stepfather/stepdaughter relationship. They're family. It's not about a taboo against sex with a blood relation. It's a taboo against sex with a family member.
They are his stepdaughters. Whether sexual relations with stepdaughters are illegal is apparently dependent on where you live. In the UK I believe it is illegal if you have formally adopted them. Legal if you have not. In the US it appears to vary by state, with some making it illegal under any conditions, some making it illegal if you're married to the other parent (unclear if that parent must share a blood relation with the children.) Probably legal in some - I did not go through the full list but California mentions "consanguinity" (blood relation) as a requirement.
I don't believe I've yet encountered an incest based game which is at all realistic. Is this game really more unrealistic than the usual highly unlikely scenario where related characters jump to sex with each other at the drop of a hat?
I haven't played the last two updates (busy with other games and life) but generally speaking I will admit the "this is so wrong" thoughts can get repetitive and should be toned down as the story progresses and his resistance is worn away, and also can be tempered with "this is so wrong but I can't resist" until it's just "fuck it, I don't want to resist, I want this." Yes, men are known for sometimes thinking with their dicks (guilty) but I can say with some certainty that one situation where my brain is more likely to go "this may be a bad idea" is going to be when it's a family member.

Yes, all of this, more often then not it seems like people around here have a difficult time empathizing or putting themselves in the MC's shoes, hell even if it was me in that position I would hesitate, a lot, might not even do something with Abby until she gets a job and can live on her own, just because it would feel like I'm taking advantage of her since I'm the one making money and even then it would be hella hard to keep the "no this is wrong" out of my brain, I think people see these games as "porn" games, and although sex is a big focus that is not what they are, they are Adult games where some may focus on just the sex while others may focus on story or gameplay.
edit: Also worth remembering that in the divorce the ex-wife accused him of exactly this and if it goes back to court and she can prove it he would be fucked, hell they might even believe that he did something while they were minors or was grooming them.

in fact, just to nitpick, what Mc's behavior lacks to make it perfectly credible is a greater firmness in rejecting Becca's advances, basically he is at stake and agrees to leave the matter in the hands of the girl, very risky and very irresponsible (especially in his precarious situation at the turn of a divorce with a woman who does not seem to have particular moral scruples)
the only relationship that makes me uncomfortable is the one with Meiko, who regardless of age, is the one with the most childish behavior, and it becomes difficult for me to ignore the pressure of her parents

yeah, I didn't like that, although Becca would probably enjoy a spanking so that would be counterproductive, I would enjoy at least having the choice to actually tell her to stop with that bullshit, it might help or it might fuck things up badly.
I don't like her parent's pressure and because of that my Mc will move at her pace, he will encourage her to be more confident but I don't intend on doing anything without her initiating.
She'll be fine once she gets the innocence fucked out of her ^_^. She'd make a perfect submissive assistant for the MC *chuckles*

These are really good perspectives and I suppose you are correct in my not understanding the step relationship. He would likely view them as his daughters considering the time they have been in that type of relationship, but his "dream" sequences repeatedly mention/affirm that he is interested in them in a sexual way. I agree with these and other comments that it is getting a bit repetitive and there should be some corruption influences happening with his behavior/thoughts. I know that is in the works based on the dreams and inner monologue, so I will be patient.
I was actually unaware of the legality with the step-daughter in the UK/other locations (and didn't think about the adoption part, which may make it illegal everywhere) so that does certainly help to explain those thoughts.
Perhaps using the word "realistic" was inappropriate in my comment. Very few (if any) of the incest type games (I know this is not incest...) are actually realistic. They are a fantasy and the taboo is part of what makes them interesting. Apologies if any of my random thoughts offended, that was certainly not my intention. I actually really like this game and think the renders are absolutely beautiful (which is why I created a gallery mod). I have tons of respect for the creator and look forward to seeing how the story progresses.
