It's hard to tell, though, since these renders were posted in the general chat, not in any of the Patreon subscriber rooms.

What a mixed bag. Grounded, good pacing, interesting (non-MC) characters. But what an awful MC it is. Apologies for the forthcoming rant, this one really got to me because it is amazing at times but what a damn frustrating ride.

Becca was really selling it short when she calls him a dominant who wants to be submissive. I don't think I've seen a more beta-typical protagonist in any game on this site. And this is supposed to be a late-30s twice-married father of 3. His indecisive complaining gets incredibly old.

Becca stop teasing your sister. Oh, you have a reason for it and a good relationship? Alright then. Wait no, Becca stop teasing your sister.

Abby I can't sleep in the bed. Oh, I'm killing my back and you'd prefer to be close to someone? Alright then. Wait no, we shouldn't be doing this.

Becca I can't check you out. Oh, you enjoy the attention and I enjoy looking at you? Alright then. Wait no, you're my family this is wrong.

Yes, because you can't ever feel 2 different emotions about the same thing, ever. JFC.

Nevermind that I was INSTANTLY ok with my two daughters being in a sexual relationship. For years. Under my roof, without my knowledge. Without one second of hesitation or consideration for whether Abby was initially ok with it.

1) Just because you're told something, and don't immediately hulk-smash everything, doesn't mean you're instantly ok with it, a lot of shit you learn to just let go, you can't change it, for example, if my parents knew half the shit I did at school, I'd have got a beating, however, now I'm several years removed from school, these stories are funny cos it happened, and you can't change it.
2) 2 teenage girls exploring their sexuality in a safe environment is *SLIGHTLY* different from them getting shagged 10 ways from sunday by their step/adopted father.

Get one phone call from Abby's "dad"? Guess I'll spill everything in the worst way possible, at a terrible time, and devastate her for no good reason.

Yes, because her real Dad telling he that will go swimmingly, with butterflies and unicorns and rainbows.

And you're piling all this on top of a character who, from the outset, is getting divorced after his wife cheats on him while raising 3 kids who aren't his. Did you really need to double-down on the tropes when you lead with that premise? MC feels like a stereotype rather than a character, which is all the more disappointing because you have decently written female characters showing interest in him. I guess he's got a big dick after all.

Mate, sometimes life is shit, things are piled on a person for no reason, and it sucks, personally, the only trope I've really seen with the MC so far is the usual "Main character has the biggest dick in the fucking universe" trope, which despite that makes him feel a lot more real, human and vulnerable.

Long and short, if you don't like the game, fine, but these critiques of the MC are getting fucking idiotic.

A major on going theme has been Frank's fiscal/financial weakness. The $1500 alimony partially offset that but the combination of a $2.4-$3 million dollar property with all ongoing expenses paid and a $200,000 cash injection into Abby's and Frank's life effectively eliminates any short to medium term monetary pressure. Remember one (the eldest?) brother has an open offer if Abby and Frank wish to sell at a premium price. All concerns related to the costs for all the girls plans washed away in a moment.

This doesn't make Frank and Abby wealthy, but Frank goes from impoverished to financially comfortable. If he and Abby end up together with merged finances and they sell the house, Frank could retire on a modest six figure income. Or, more likely, he'd continue with his real estate business without the pressure for that business to pay his monthly bills. If he sells, one property a month, those profits and the earnings from the investments from the sale of the house could easily generate over $250,000 annually, with no mortgage or rent. Frank, Abby, Becca, and Lilly end up pretty much on easy street.

From a non-financial perspective. I expect a road trip to check out the house with all the various opportunities for Becca and Lilly to indulge with Frank, and for Abby to become directly aware about their involvement with Frank with all the fallout that's likely to create, especially between Lilly and Abby (perhaps including a major dispute between Abby and Frank about what to do with the house).

Whether or not everything comes out in the wash, I expect that, given her freedom, Abby is going to press Frank for what she's wanted for so very long and won't be much interested in Frank's arrangement with Lilly.

Lot of grist for the mill here.

Opens up the reentry in the story of the one that will not be named for a little casual drama


The road trip would be a logical next step, think it will be Frank & Abby alone first (even if they decide to sell), it opens up the 3 in a row story line. But i think she needs to get talked into the sharing option by Lily or something.
And don't dismiss Meiko,,,, she had a pretty growing part in the last update(s).
It is all open for a lot of drama.

I suspect the drama part will be relatively light from the girls part, remember the drama mainly comes from MC in this game and his trouble to accept their wants and wishes happily without qualms and third parties. So any drama will be more connected with that as with the girls themselves I suspect. Let us be honest, whether you think his inner recriminations are just fine or overdone at this time in the game, well they do not show he is at peace with it already. I can easily see Frank doing something real stupid as trying to run away from them or be talked into that by someone to save them from himself as he is at this moment still in game especially if something happens with Abby.

Such a development would also be one of the few reasons I can see why dev insists to keep him incriminating himself that badly by now and not at least slightly begun the road to convincing/corrupting himself: maybe it is not good what I am doing with the girls, but it is what they want as well and I do love them deeply.

Talking about exploiting Frank's doubts, Shannon finding out would certainly mean drama and a kick to Frank's nethers. She appears to be a powerful oppressor even after the divorce and would certainly have the power to send Frank on a self loathing guilt trip. Now the girls have somewhere in the countryside to drag him for some shock treatment.

I think Shannon finding out is a logical step given that the idea of she finding out has been played with by Becca, Lillith and the lawyer. It would piss in my cereal but it is almost a given at this point.

He can be fine with it, but he should have some internal reaction other than "that's wonderful, I never knew". He either thinks faux-incest is wrong or is concerned about Abby getting hurt/used by a more possessive/dominant partner. But he never has a second thought about it in either case.

Long and short, if you don't like the game, fine, but these critiques of the MC are getting fucking idiotic.

Indecision is not weak, it's called "Internal conflict", also, how is going "I want this, but I shouldn't" not thinking about it? God forbid someone verbalizes their internal struggle to their partner or the person causing said struggle.

Or he's smart enough to realize that it's an asshole move to keep the truth from her, and it's highly likely she'll find out regardless, so it's better to hear it from him rather than some "stranger" who did a pump n dump.

I get the need for legit critique, but most of it seems to hinge on "The MC isn't perfect, he has flaws, and his own reasons to do things, instead of diving balls deep into anything vaguely related to him"

I dunno about any of the nagging or complaining about this game, can't be really bothered to read through 246 threads of nag, so I will just say this.

I downloaded this for a quick ctrl speed through like I do with 99% of the junk on this site when I want something other than a pornhub quick fap and I got so engrossed in the story and how fleshed out and believable the chars and dialogues are I kinda forgot it was a porn game. If you are complaining about this and that for this one, which is a rarity on this site to say the least, then how do you react to those other terrible 'google-translate' from russian, utterly idiotic and unnecessary 'storylines' that remind of some 90s porn-parodies?

I didn't skip a single line of dialogue, when I usually do not read past the first few 10-15 lines in any given 'game' on this site. Just saying...Oh and dev good work with the story so far, just ignore everyone and keep doing your thing.

Hey all,

So after some talk with people on Discord I've decided that this is a good spot to end chapter 1 of Single again. Right now the entire file is pushing 4gigs and I don't want it to be much bigger than that for each chapter. So, since the last release I've been working on polishing up what has been made so far.

Here is a list of what I've been adding to the game:

• Changed the code for non-looping videos. They can be skipped now, so you no longer have sit through all of them.
• Adding code to stop the text box from flashing in and out when a different character talks.
• Adding dissolves during conversations so it looks more animated.
• Fixing spelling and grammar errors. There are a ton of them early on in the story.
• Redoing some images and videos. Some of the images from the beginning of the game are ruuuuufffff... So I've been remaking them so they're up to the same standard as later game images.

• Music and sound effects. I haven't added any yet. But it's on the to do list.

So this is going to be the next big update, I know a lot of you would rather have all new content, but this needs to be done. I'm looking at the end of October for this to be released.

The credits at the end will be permanent, so if you don't want your name in them send me a message and I'll keep it out. I use the name that you use for Patreon. If it looks like a real name I only use the last initial (eg. John Smith = John S.)

After this is done, I'll be starting Chapter 2. Since the set up is already done, the story will progress much faster with the golden trio. Build up (or not) relationships with Beth, Vanessa, and Meiko. Plus a few new characters to play around with.

I think it's a good decision to round up and polish everything. It gives a decent closure of Chapter 1.
Nice to see the story progress will increase in Chapter 2. I hope that includes the MC too. Also - Nice to see there will me an increased focus on the other characters. Those where kept a bit dangling towards the end of Chapter 1 (no complaints here, because a lot of stuff was going on with the primary characters).
In short - I am optimistic about the plans for Chapter 2, and looking forward to it...

Fair enough summation and yeah to add to that a dev also sometimes has to take into account newer players or future players and technical developments in meantime besides some things that maybe worked great from update to update, but maybe a bit less well when play whole game in one or two sittings. As an existing player yeah the first priority is always new content though.
