us alcohol laws are stupid. i worked in a state where you couldnt buy liquor on sunday, but you could order a shot at the bar on sunday. never did wrap my head around that. other stupid things, like towns that have pub crawls but also public intoxication laws. not even joking, i was at a bbq on a front lawn and the cops shut it down cause we had open containers and were drinking, cited it as public intoxication. so we walked down the street around the corner and did the pub crawl the town councils board of tourism had pictured in their ads. our booze laws are written by highly emotional people, worse still we never repeal laws, just add more.

Even dumber, the county in Tennessee where the Jack Daniels whiskey distillery is located is a dry county, so you can't by liquor there any time unless you are buying a "commemorative" bottle at the distillery gift shop. But you aren't buying the whiskey, you are buying the bottle and the whiskey in it is thrown in for free.

In Finland it’s actually pretty absurd too. If you want to run both a bar with serving rights (anniskelulupa) and a kiosk/shop with retail rights (to sell bottled/canned beer or hard cider to-go), the law treats them as completely separate worlds.

• Bar (anniskelulupa): You can serve drinks, but everything has to be consumed on premises. Customers can’t buy a beer and walk out with it.
• Kiosk/retail license: You can sell factory-sealed drinks (max 5.5% alc) to take home, but nobody can open them on site.

If you want both under the same roof, you can’t just have one counter. You literally need two separate businesses with their own registers, storage, and staff areas — often even a wall or a physical barrier between the spaces. Someone can’t legally buy a six-pack from the “shop side” and then walk three meters over to the “bar side” and drink it. They’d have to exit one, step outside, and re-enter through another door.

So you end up with these ridiculous layouts where a small place has to build a fake dividing wall or duplicate cash registers just to satisfy the bureaucracy. Same drinks, same owner, but two completely separate “universes” depending on whether it’s open or sealed.

I have been playing through 1.24.3, and wanted to install the new update.
I don't seem to be able to make it work. (honestly, I am no computer wiz)
Is there a idiots guide to install the update the game?

You download it and extract it and double click on the exe and your done, at least for PC version.

Update only.
Just copy the new update files into the main game folder and it should work.
Make sure you copy just the files and folder inside the download folder.

If that don't work then download the complete game again.

Just finished the latest update and this was one of the most enjoyable VN experiences for me... until it got to a point where the the slow burn and some of the monologue felt so forced.. For example : MC / Abby arguments starting to circle around
"it wouldn't be right honey" - "it would be, you love me and I love you, we already have a thing going on" again and again and again
while both of them are naked in the same bed, hugging. I mean, make it make sense. You dive inside the nympho that accused you of SA not so long ago, said horrible things to you, gave much less affection compared to Abby, but when it comes to Abby, you have to be so hesitant, just to appeal to your already corrupted sense of pride.

And about the irrelevant dork (don't really hate her, but she's around all the time, man.) Mei whom we had not cared about until 3 weeks ago literally had more screen time than our main step daughter of 19 years.

The MC lives with someone one can only dream of, and despite all the opportunities that Abby tries to create, our ultra moral buddy who happens to have boned almost all of the fish in the sea (two of which are in the same ballpark as Abby), only returns the compassion to Abby as if he's at gunpoint.
I mean, his main drive for pursuing with Lil was so that he wouldn't lose her forever, but he doesn't have half the concern for Abby.

Again, this is one of if not the most engaging and enjoyable VNs I've played, and by no means do I think it's a bad product. From the animations to character progressions / developments (not all of them) it's an amazing project. It's just I don't understand it when MCs literally have the best options one can imagine but they create unnecessary dilemmas and push the opportunities away for nonsensical reasons. But overall this was a decent experience and I look forward to the upcoming updates.

Mei is a stealthy sex ninja. She spent the entire evening with Abby working out Musashi Miyamoto-level strategies to have the redhead riding Frank's pole before the week is out.

I've made a small unessential mod for the game. It doesn't change anything about the story or anything. Basically, it is a replay of the flashbacks with Frank and Jessica, in timeline order. If you don't want it, that is cool. If you do want it, just download and extract. By default it is locked, you unlock it by reaching the end of the current update. This was done to prevent spoilers for new players. If you don't see it as per the following image, just load up your save and replay the final few moments of the update before you get the "Thanks for playing" message.

I think most peoples issues with this game are because the MC is written like a real person, and doesn't just jump headfirst into pussy, consequences be damned. He repeats the same arguments because he's not ready to take the plunge yet.

Ok. This is quite possibly one of the best games I have ever played - and I've played a lot. A LOT.

The writing is excellent, the story is well paced, the models are fantastic - just awesome all around.

I did find myself getting irritated with the MC - but then I realize that the author has truly captured the potential, perhaps even likely, thoughts and emotions that someone in that position might experience.

50/10 - extremely well done, and I can't wait for the next update!
