Anyone played the first game recently and can refresh me on the Lore/ story summary/ canon ending of the first game? I've played it a long time ago and I remember the final boss being a priest that transforms into a monster (there is not much story in the first game right?) Is the protagonist/ events of the first game referenced in this game?
They are not referenced directly in this game yet thou there is hope for that in a possible future dlc.
The final boss of the first game is an eldritch being much like in this game as far as I'm aware, called the observer. The story itself probably goes rather similar thou as this game. In a way this game has a lot of parallels with the first. A number of priests came into contact with an eldritch god, became corrupted and went mad and started expressing their madness in different ways. Corrupting populace with parasites, trying to expand their minds, mixing humans and monsters. Standard lovecraftian cult activities that is either aimed at pleasing their new god or trying to ascend to it's level or simply just ravings of a madman.
Rabiane was sent by some holy organization to investigate and deal with whatever is going on. Considering there is no dialogue in the first game, we can only really infer from the 2nd game and context clues that the Observer might have had a similar goal to the Father, to have a human female host that is a suitable vessel for him to procreate with / reincarnate from.
Now at the end of the first games good ending we do se the observer be banished and Rabiane leaving the place, however one particular thing of note is that in the final fight Rabiane is put in a haze and can't help but embrace and copulate with a slug that could be the core of the Observer, the same type of slug does appear in the 2nd game after the Father gets blasted with holy energy so it is possible that it is a sort of core or true form for these eldritch gods. Either way. Do to this fact it is questionable even if Rabiane banishes the observer, she might already be impregnated. That however is unconfirmed.
Being as these games are inspired by Lovecraftian horror, a lot of things are foggy and left unanswered completely, as the genre is in large part draws it's horror from the fear of the unknown and unknowable.
FFS, why do you even need to know lore? There is no deep lore, only a few easter eggs.
It's a hentai game, not a Dark Souls.
Why not? If someone is interested, what harm is that to you? ^^"
