Just finished the game. I'd say it's easier than the first game. The arrow magic is much more powerful, especially after receiving the penetrating and exploding upgrades. Also, recovery items are much easier to access. I did have some problems with the struggle mechanism (I tried to rack the joystick back and forth, but it's not very effective).

The 2:1 aspect ratio chosen by the developer did give me some problems. I don't have an ultra-wide monitor, so I'm limited to windowed mode. I really hope there could be an 480P option, then I could scale it by 2x to 1920*960, or even better if the developer just supported it natively.

on top of flicking/waggling the stick you can also mash your face buttons at the same time

I didn't actually remember exactly, just knew it's some old NES or SNES game so I looked it up.

Also, Alps is great even as is so yeah, if it had Pixel art. >.<
But also...........now you also remind me about the Alps OVA being cancelled. T_T
One thing you didn't name but the H art in it is amazing if you ask me (even if the gameplay is very meh and the walking animation is very janky), give Rosé and the Magical Beast a look. The pixel art is top quality.

Ooo, you're in for a treat with Nurtale, then. The pixel art in that is some of the best and you have no idea how much I appreciate the artist depicting the girl running while holding her chest. It's the simple things that make so much sense!

That said, the game does have its issues, such as key/item management, which could have been prevented with something simple like a skeleton key to save on space. That and I preferred things when the player is forced to play smart with their environment rather than curb stomp stuff once you get the crossbow. It skimps out on enemy diversity, too, design wise.

I'm not 100% certain if the game is finished, btw. Then again, it's been forever since I last checked in on its dev...

I had no idea Alps was meant to get an OVA. Could have been interesting... but then it could have been like Sinisistar's. >_>

Still a good game, though. The amount of emotion shown with the animated CG art alone is easily top tier. Great direction.

Are you familiar with Anthophobia? That's definitely another to recommend. It and Princess Reconquista are great options.

Do you know where I can find this 'Rosé and the Magical Beast'? I did a cursory search and couldn't find anything. x_x

Looks perfectly fine to me, especially given the creature. I wouldn't change it.

And no worries about only decensoring the black option. It's her canon attire anyway.
