lol, feels like forever since I last delved into this world's lore. Still haven't played the sequel proper since launch.

In regards to Lelia's final scene with the slug, though, I feel the Otherworlder entities are much like the Chaos gods of 40k. They're not friends, they're rivals, and if any alliances are made between them they're doomed to fail. This is why I'm more or less convinced the 'Father' and 'Observer' are competing against each other. Yet to what end? A good question for later.

Regardless, Rabiane's efforts in the first game subdued the Observer's influence on reality, allowing the Father to take advantage of the power vacuum it left behind. I figure this might be the case in favour of the reveal that the Observer exists in secret in the sequel, that it's far too weak now to influence mortals or confront its rival. That is until it's made aware of an unlikely ally in its midst, that being Lelia. It wants the sisters to succeed in thwarting the Father, so much so that it bargains with the fate of the world by bestowing Lelia the Staurotheca to help dispose of its greater rival not only easier but quicker.

As the ol' saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The Observer wants the Father's defeat more than anyone and will go against its own kind to make sure of it. That it only appears in that dark chamber hints it's not supposed to be meddling in their affairs after it failed to take the Kessaria region, which sounds like a backstabbing power play to me.

That said, this can also play into the slug's reveal at the end. It's quite possible this is telling us the Observer has offered one final olive branch through it to Lelia, giving her the opportunity to join it or face unspeakable calamities in the future.
Considering it mainly pulls from Bloodborne, the Outer Ones may vary in motivation, some of them even may be sympathetic, but they're pretty much at odds against each other.

This also gives this sequel narrative leeway as to why it has the same exact beats as the first game narratively, unlike Bloodborne where we know only Yharnam has the plague, we've now seen in both games how 2 regions are suffering similar plights, and the Church's initial attempts prior to Leila and Hanya's arrival does show that they were already trying to quell the corruption from spreading prior to the majority of the local church getting corrupted.

Man, imagine how screwed you are to be a paladin or a male priest in this setting. Like, you get this hand:

A) You've gotta fight a bunch of mindbending horrors, some of which will blow your head off if you look at them when they're glowing. Some of them have fucking lasers for eyes. There's ghouls that'll rip you apart, the demihumans will just execute you if they get you, and the cult has no need for you so they'll probably just toss you to the Otherworlder for fun.

B) If you're a paladin you probably have a sword or something rather than Lilia and her magic wand that gives her a bow, so you've got to fight all that crap in melee. The weird pig monster in the cathedral? The munch thing under the valley? They will 110% fuck you up if you make even one mistake. You can't even fight the dangling thing in the cathedral library - if you saw it you're just dead, and there's nothing you can do about it.

C) As if that was not enough already, you're surrounded by babes like Lilia and Rabiane, but they're nuns so they won't touch you. You could be flexing all day in front of them and actually be surviving this hell hole, and still get cucked by a parasite leech in the northeast village. Even the villagers won't hook up - they hate the priests, and even if you do you could end up getting killed by your own kid if it turns out to be some sort of weird horror. There's literally no upsides for you, unless you're the Doom Slayer and just want to crush skulls and call that reward enough.

Poor bastards got the worst hand this side of being born in 40k or something :p
It's not like we don't see female exorcists like Lilia and Rabiane get killed and/or eaten. Surely being a female means there's a chance the monsters would keep you alive as a milk/egg producer plus incubator, they still kill you if you try to resist. The plants and fungi surely don't care if you're female or male as long as you provide them with nutrients they need. If you consider being alive is the most priority, there's nothing stopping you from joining the evil cult as a male prist - you might even get lucky with a captured sister.

While I don't see how being a male prevents you from using magic powers like Lilia, it not like meele attacks aren't affective against those monsters. After all, Rabiane did fought with a sword, a bow & arrows. While not as powerful as Lilia's magic, they also don't rely on having MP to use.

If we're talking about game designs, it can be easily fitted for a male protagonist with some tweaks. Like having the monsters crave for human sperm so they can mix in human DNA to bring the alien god to the real world. While being a male means you can't produce your own egg, it doesn't mean you can't carry them in your warm belly and eventually give birth to them.

There's a vague post from the devs on male crusaders in the setting, but it's hard to tell if they can't use magic or simply don't have same capability when it comes to accessing magic.
Hope someone posts what I am referring to.

Maybe the canonical ending is actually that Lilia and Hanya do get captured and turned into breeding vessels, and the 'escape' is just Lilia's conscious escaping into a fantasy.

View attachment 4982763
The reason why I disagree with the theory you're quoting is that both games end the same way, even if it's a dream, Leila has the option to take her sword out to kill the slug just as Rabiane does.

The other key thing here is that a bad end against the Mimic's third phase turns Rabiane INTO the slug, so it's not exactly a fate that's limited to the Outer Gods. Killing her as the Mimic is some sort of abortion/infanticide in the process.

That said, Hanya "ascending" HAS a reference of its kind in Bloodborne, but the issue with this whole thing is that Hanya already elaborated how what they're doing is a known process of subduing a Great One, and how somebody already failed trying to do it prior to them, which was the nun we encountered at the very beginning. Failing that fight feels like the appropriate book end to that whole thing in the process, whereas the ending encounter with the slug is also how the first game ends. If you just let Leila stand there, it rapes Leila, but you have the option to actually kill it before that happens.

so i just finished this game and tried the prequel but it doesn't have the same "open-world" feeling like this one does. Anyone have any other game recommendations that are similar to sin 2?

Side scrollers hentai are technically mostly non-open world and follows the route that Holy knight Ricca does which is very linear and simple.

I am sorry to say that finding anything as unique as this is extremely rare in the H-department.

The only thing I can recommend is Alice in Cradle which is 100% has H but is close to linear yet tons of exploration puzzles and choices/alternate routes.

Downside: the updates are also insanely slow.
There is also a new game in development called:
[森のラクーン/Raccoon of the Forest] ハサミと魔法のアナストロジア / Scissors and Magic Anastrosia

Which i am looking forward to... but its stuck on a paywall it does have a demo and isn't translated.
Looking at the updates it has surprisingly good looking GO's and plays like [Night of Revenge] (Which is also a game I recommend)

The pig farm in game need to be longer with more woman being used in the background.
This 100%.
The Pig Farm bit was very hot and interesting in itself but still felt a bit underused considering its potential.
Seeing the gigantic tits alteration on multiple women, while they would be raped by pigs and breastfeeding baby pigs would've been insanely hot.

I also feel like the huge tits alteration could've been used more, but that's just me being a sucker for that type of content.

All I wanted to do in this game is go around collecting breast expanding parasites.

One thing I really like about this game is that fact that you can name the protagonist whatever you want. :3
It might be a small things but barely any of these types of games do this, and the fact that I can put myself in her shoes or even pretend that she's me is just so hot. >///<
I wish more games did something like this or at least had more of a blank slate protagonist like this and the first game do.

You are now imagining Lilia with hair covering her eyes like your classical male H-protagonist

Honestly yeah, i can only think of 2 or 3 instances where she had huge tits and with all of them you could'nt move beyond your current area.Im not sure if it will show up again but im just hoping it'll be in a scenario where you can keep them afterwards.

Won't that be all males are fuck over in this world?
Some of them don't seem so bad (if this ain't a prequel but a different part of the globe and things aren't as bad as the first game or something) off. The tavernkeeper's got a pretty good gig going on before and after the town gets attacked, and the trader's probably making bank off of relics from providing potions. I just think a male holy warrior gets double-plus fucked in this setting.

Maybe with the magic, sure, but consider just how actually fucked you are in story in this game. Like, let's say a guy shows up to do Lilia's job instead: same abilities, same stuff, only difference is they're a dude with all that entails. You can do the first bits of the game fine, but things start to get wonk as you head towards midgame: you legit can't get KO'd once by the demihumans or they'll murderize you, and the cult doesn't have much need for you, since you ain't equipped like Lilia to get knocked up with the Otherworlder, or whatever other kid game over's your ass as Lilia if you pop it out.

And that's a big ass problem, because you can't get through the northeastern village if they don't really want you. You fight your way through the villagers to the gate, but you can't get that gate open without the key and you can only get that after being KO'd one time, which leads to the parasite ending up in Lilia - they're basically trying to break your ass to knock you up with a kid, or something along those lines. They can't (or can they ominous music intensifies) knock up male-Lilia, so if they get you down they'd probably go "hey this guy's the only real threat we have and they've got no value to our plans" and blast his ass into the next dimension. It ain't like they need to brainwash you - they've already got plenty of male cultists in the Cathedral. You're just a loose end they can tie up.

And even if you can get infected and they want to keep you around...my man, they're sticking a parasite worm up your ass, and you're liable to get gangbanged by every man in the village to put more in you like in the Lilia knock down events. That's assuming you make it even that far in the game because if you get KO'd by the demihumans they'll just take your head off. Cathedral? They're not gonna brainwash you or try to give you a womb crest, they'll just dust you the moment they get a chance. With Lilia if you fuck up at least you have the fact that most people want to use your big curvy body for something, which can let her get back on her feet - escaping from the demihumans, or just using how the cult underestimated her at the northeast village to get the two sides of the key. That's not great, lotta rape involved, but better than a guy who'd just get RIP'd the moment they fuck up even once. The Otherworlder's whole shtick seems to be "have mutant babies" so as a dude you either die or get M-preg'd.

This is not the setting to want to be a male protag in, good grief. If I was a dude in this setting I'd rather be the damned trader, because half the time Lilia seems to come up to him naked and he can still pull trade goods out of his ass to replenish her supplies and make absolute bank in the process everytime she comes back to town. Like, we're not even trading him cash; dude's taking holy relics - I'd bet they're worth more than money, so whenever this blows over you fuck off somewhere else, sell the lot, and live like a king.

Like, maybe male crusaders don't actually have it that bad in general, I dunno about the broader setting and I don't think we know much about it or them, but they'd definitely not have a good time in this game's main storyline.

It is possible to beat the prist at Northeast Village on the first encounter - there's a very short window you can deal damage to his head right after he grabs. Not easy though, requires quiet a few shots even with full attack upgrade.

Also it's not like brainwashing a strong soldier isn't in their interest. There's a reason male slaves were priced much higher back then... they can't make babies but they can do a lot more much efficiently.

All that's said, there's no doubt that being a male exorcist is like playing in the "very hard" difficulty. I mean we don't send woman first to the front lines in wars for a reason... either being a female exorcist gives you more power (after all it's a goddess they worship) or all the males exorcists have fought and fallen.

I'm going to agree with the previous post, males are no longer an interesting currency for the Cult of the Father, they pretty much took over all relevant locations in Arcezon besides the town. Why would they need some random male, no matter how strong, when their whole plan revolves around bringing their master into the world -something a male can't accomplish alone. They want women with high magical potential, because they can become effective vessels to give birth to Otherworlders and Abomination Broodlings.

With all that said, there was that priest that stood his ground and prepared the ritual to reveal the Otherworlders, allowing the warrior nuns to fight them. So there is some merit for a priest supporting Leila/Lillia, even a Crusader with magical attacks. But they would need to avoid every single instance of defeat, or they get killed or nomed without a second thought.
