piracy and plagiarism have very little to do with one another.Again, I don't disagree but the irony remains and isn't any less present.
Edit: On that note, how does someone not making money off of someone elses work (since its here and not making money either) vs not paying someone for their work worse? You say its morally worse, but please explain as from my understanding the creator isn't getting money either way and its all the same shit, the difference is with the former, they can at least win some money in court.
a. while both include theft, only one includes lying. theft is bad, but theft and lies is worse. there's no irony in "preaching about giving credit on a pirate website" because pirating has nothing to do with credits (and no one was preaching, its was barely a sentence).
b. Giving credit does not cost you any money. I'm not saying he should pay royalties, just say "hey, you should know this was done by someone else", without spending a dime you expose more people to the original artist which can increase their revenue.
c. there are good reasons to pirate, game not being available in your area, not having funds, DRM makes games unplayable, etc. plagiarism does not.
d.piracy hasn't been shown to cause significant sales damage to AAA games, because people who buy games keep buying games because they prefer it. I'm not going to buy a 15$ porn game, and someone who does buy doesn't do it because he doesn't know pirating exists. between the options of me not buying a game and me pirating a game the latter is the better.
