I'm surprised that explanations are needed, but OK. Freddie.

You know, your whole post is reminiscent of the protest of factory workers at the beginning of the 20th century.
This was especially evident when automatic machines began to appear.
The protest was aimed at preventing factory owners from installing machine tools in factories...
Workers were breaking down machines, disabling them, and striking in the belief that "soulless machines will take away human labor.".. Sounds familiar, right?
Years have passed and now everything you hold in your hands has been created using human-controlled machines.

All the current abuse of artists on artistic neural networks reminds me of those workers from the early 20th century.
Wait a bit, the world is in the process of adaptation again, years will pass and the artists themselves will say "how did we live before without the help of these programs"
So don't worry, don't swear. A machine still cannot displace a person, especially in such a niche as creativity!
I assume you’re referring to the luddites, and it was the 18th century.
Skilled English mill workers (in a period of economic distress following the napoleon wars) destroyed certain types of machinery in raids. This was because these new machines were brought in to allow rich factory owners to employ unskilled workers for much lower pay and much less job security (since anyone could do the work, you could always be replaced). The new machines also produced work of inferior quality.

It’s one thing to use a forum to view an artists work for free, but it’s absolutely taking the fucking piss to post AI generated images trained on said artists stolen commissions. Not to mention cutting off the hand that feeds you

No, in my post I was referring specifically to the beginning of the 20th century, when electric and automatic machines began to be installed...
factory workers began to break them and protest against such machines as in the USA, in European countries and even in the Soviet Union.
But your example is also absolutely correct.
That's why I'm saying that history repeats itself.

As for placing artificial intelligence products here on a permanent basis, I am strongly opposed.
My publication there was more a response to a sad post Kacap.

Your entire argument reminds me of this exchange:

“You know what I say to people when I hear they’re writing anti-war books?”

“No. What do you say?”

“I say, ‘Why don’t you write an anti-glacier book instead?”

The Internet never ceases to amaze me. I commented, rather negatively, on the fakes of my favorite creator's work that appeared here and there, and here comes this uproar...

Oh well. All that's left is to wait until early July to see if the hiatus will extend.
And by the way, what's the oldest drawing of Slyppy that you know of? I remember some black and white drawings from 2016, but something earlier?

stick up their ass? you are a soulless creature who only thinks with their dick. you are controlled by your hormones to the point of you indulging in unethical art. generative ai art steals from real artists to produce nothing but slop devoid of a human's touch. i'm sure you don't understand because you are neither an artist nor creative. you are lazy for wanting a program to generate a poor imitation instead of drawing it yourself. you don't belong in the art community and you will never have the credibility to have any of your comments on art taken seriously. go pick up a pencil
ok bro

In light of the Sleepy drought with his ever expanding break, enjoy a blast from the past from the archive of ol' Longmire. Look at how SG used to draw Evie and especially Violet, My, how he has come a long way.

P.S. I never bothered to date these when I downloaded them from his old tumblr page (before he went Patreon), so they are all over the shop in terms of dates.

Yes
That was the thing I had thought about. Different facet, etc.
The 5'th one is ... the "ugliest". I think it might be one of his early works, for real early. ;)
One can find feet, mask, but I do prefer later.
I am glad author hadn'to followed this path.

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone has done a "What if..." with sleepygimp's work, something like a mini-comic or fanfic novel. Example: In Family Values 2, Freddie isn't caught, and the door is open enough for him to see with one eye how Evie and Violet play with the country girl, etc. (I wanted to try it, but I basically have no talent for drawing, lol, and I'm terrible at creative ideas.)

Michael Jackson was real. He hasn't been generated by AI.
Michael Jackson's relatives, who gave their approval to his concerts through holograms, will disagree with you...

All my theories are based on this: "what if..."
Well, as far as I know, apart from "The Fan And Ponygirl" there were no major works of art...

Hey, didn't you say he extended his vacation until June 30th? Today is the 30th, do you know if he sent any messages?

Nope...
The information usually appears at the beginning of the next month.
In my opinion, the website automatically extends the vacation date on the 5th of the new month.

Thank you for an explanation ;)
I allowed myself to comment:

Greed is one of the seven deadly sins, if I remember correctly. When combined with determination, the effect usually exceeds the cognitive abilities of ordinary mortals.
I think it seems better to use less pompous language and call it the only name it deserves: shiteating.

All that remains for me is to hope that in this case, participation will not be mandatory... The real thriller.
