It's a shame that after so many years, Sleepy hasn't been able to fill all the plot holes in his story. And judging by his fatigue with this universe, it's unlikely he ever will. While the storyline between LTIN and RF is relatively dense, and these stories are generally well-written and develop the lore, the first few years of Nancy's adventures are rather understated. It's like some connecting threads are missing. We know very little about Evie's or Aunt Carmilla's early years.
If To Reform A Thief was always thought as the end point of the Nancy saga it's ok although judging by the events taking place, the development seems to be self-evident but I would like Sleepy to make more intermediate stories so that his universe looks more coherent, and not like a stub with a good, solid middle, but an extremely leaky beginning and absolutely no ending. Because if we assume that Nancy's Saga is first and foremost a comic with a single, overarching plot, and not just a collection of panels with BDSM and hypnosis, then it seems to me that it is still missing some chapters. Basically, Sleepy only needs to make a few stories and clarify its chronology for the puzzle to finally come together. Definitely finish Slumber Party Mystery, make the story of Nancy's first encounter with the bitch tandem, which would take place before the events of Mystery of the Vanished Heiress and would set the stage for the whole story. So that we weren't just told what we learned in TBAT, but also shown. (It's strange that Sleepy didn't add two or three additional pages of flashback. It would have left fewer questions.)
And finally, some kind of coherent epilogue for Kayla.
It's clear that, in hindsight, Sleepy is unlikely to add depth or nuance to Vi, for example. It's long been clear to me that she's evil "just because," but it would be interesting to learn more about Aunt Carmilla and her Tea Club. Because for now, as Evelina herself noted (which is very ironic, as this can easily be projected onto the entire Saga as a whole) - despite all the pathos and mystery with all these covens and so on, it all really does look like a bunch of ladies over 40, playing with their permissiveness, who just love to fuck without restraint. This may be a good thing overall, but if Sleepy originally intended this to be the case, it still begs the question: was there any point in focusing on the story at all? Perhaps this is another reason to think.
