I have a feeling that making a long answer isn't the right thing to do, but I can't let people spitting on me like this without answering back.
I'm used to high levels of autism as i have played a lot of Dota 2, but this brings it to a higher plane.
Nice to meet you too. Glad to see you're discovering new level of autisms. I didn't know my game could do something better than a Valve game. I'm flattered.
Maybe i'm just a big retard for failing, but seeing as i'm not the only one who failed and the people here asking for a save file rises a question
I'd never dare question your intelligence level (whether or not someone finds something reachable or not is up to their past experience. That doesn't mean it's unreachable for everyone.) However I beg to differ: there are litteraly people asking for save files in every game thread. That argument is invalid.
playing lategame against Spectre is difficult
I'd have prefered Lol references (you know, the other high-level autism game) but I swear it isn't true. Let me play Spectre and go lategame against me: You'll crush me
here it's just try, try and try again
We're okay that this part is just to avoid the bad endings, right? Cause you make it sound like people have to constantly try again to get access to the game's content. But this is unlockable anytime. It's really just avoiding the bad ends.
In a game like Dark Souls where you have actual gameplay,
Gameplay definition (Wikipedia):
Gameplay is the specific way in which players interact with a game, and in particular with video games. Gameplay is the pattern defined through the game rules, connection between player and the game, challenges and overcoming them, plot and player's connection with it.
Do I need to point out that everything listed in that definition can be applied to SoV2? Just because you don't slay big boss after dying thousands of times doesn't mean there is no gameplay (and don't say you didn't say there wasn't gameplay, the emphasis on the "actual" totally means it). It's not crazy, but there's gameplay. At least it's a bit more than Scene A --> Choice 1, 2 & 3 --> Scene B --> Choice 1, 2 & 3 --> Scene C etc...
at least you're getting better
I beg to differ once again. Some people never get better at games like Dark Souls (you know, that part I mentionned above about something being reachable or not depending on the person...)
Here, however, you're just clicking around, hoping that by the power of autism and sheer luck you are going to make it this time around
If you want to use the power of autism and luck, I have nothing against it. Don't pretend it's the only power the player can use, though. The power of reading can be a bit useful. Considering there are... you know... clues to avoid bad ends (cause once again, I maintain that the "going to make it" is just for avoiding bad ends, not for unlocking stuff).
And to what end? Most of the smut is copy-paste, the literal version of your classmate handing in your homework as his own with a few words changed here and there
I don't expect you to understand the implications of working on 2D material vs 3D material but at least don't show it that much. You want a comparison? The last game by Cyclet has 25 base images. Mine will have 40 once it's finished (there are 38 for now). Cyclet is a professionnal ero game comp in Japan and they sell their game around $45 digitally (adds easily $20 for a boxed version) and when they hire an artist, it works full-time for them (which is, of course, not my case. PeakJump has a life outside SoV2). And yet, there's more content in my game JUST in term of base images (we're talking in the case that 1 base image would be equal to 1 scene). YES, there are repetitions. And those were requested while I was making my previous game (where each pic = one scene). I pushed the concept a bit far but you have no idea how much longer it can take to make a whole new scene in 2D instead of making a 3D render. You have the right to dislike the concept of scenes with variations only, but you don't have the right to say that most of the smut is copy and past especially with that lousy comparison while I write a brand new dialogues for each scene.
The more raunchy stuff is locked and available at the later stages of the game
Yeah, that's called progression. You maybe like when the girls are sluts right from the start, but there's a logic behind all that (that's supposed to go with the stats growth (another example of non-gameplay btw)). This is the 3rd game of a series. I can't do like The Hunter and say "Oh fuck it, let's make them do the nastiest shit right after the second day!"
until which you have to suffer through endless handjobs
Don't lie. You barely need one or two handjobs done to finish the game. YOU suffered through endless handjobs. Not my fault if you didn't find any more scenes to unlock (and saying they're too hard to find doesn't work either: I integrated a guy selling books litterrally giving away ALL the recipe combinations).
No, not more hand- and blowjobs, leave that to normies, instead, take a critical look at the "elements" and add perverse scenes, that resonate within the viewer, that makes them come back and back again.
Thank you for that particular line because it totally resonnates with the rest. You see, the problem here is that you're taking your own point of view as universal. So, while I'll pass on the total lack of REAL constructive criticism (you know, the one meant to help a developer make his game better, that's the one I tend to answer to, but yours was too big of a bait), I'll gently invite you to take a look at my other game's thread called "The Hunter" in which you'll find exactly what you're looking for. Very sick stuff right from the start. But don't hesitate to check the posts on the thread and all the insults I've been recieving because I "left vanilla stuff to the normies and added perverse scenes that resonate within the viewer, that makes them come back and back again." Maybe you'll realize that no matter the game you do, you can't catter to everyone. Let alone when you're dealing with extreme fetishes like me. So your single piece of "advice" is totally useless. Many of the people following me are not comfortable with the most extreme things I show/write, but they deal with it. I'm not gonna stay on the totally extreme side ditching more vanilla things like hand/blowjob just because, according to you, the content of my scenes is more or less what saves SoV2 to be a bad game.
I try things. It's good, that's fine, it's bad, I try to correct it. And in that matter, if a Patron could come around to attest how the game evolved between the very first version and v0.9 he would back up that statement. MANY elements of the game have been simplified. Moreover, the development is not over. And while I've never been against helping the player to make the experience more smooth, your comment makes me think things I'd rather keep for me and would even push me towards the "don't make things easier" side of things. If at least, as I said, you'd been A BIT constructive. But there's NOTHING. It's just ranting and insulting. I usually don't answer to those, but that's a bit too much this time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And for people complaining about the lack of "new" base image I invite you to check the part where I explain the amount of base images in the game. You want PeakJump to work every month for me exclusively? Sure, give me around $1,500 more per month and that can be done. Otherwise, I have to deal with commissions and real life things on the side. I could explain that in much more details, but the answer above took me all the time I had and I need to leave anyway.
