Again, as stated before in this thread, Patreon is an optional support, it's more "Like my stuff? Wanna help me do it? Toss me some cash!" Yes it CAN be a life changing experience and give you the ability to be independent and rely on it for a living, but end of day they are human, and have basic needs and emotions to be met, and the unexpected can occur.
