You might want to go through your female version. Even in the update I keep finding scenes where the main character is called "he" and you use the male model rather than the female one.

Female protagonist works. BUT confusion over names for the woman coming down the stairs who is labelled Sacha but is referenced in the bio and in some dialogue as Sarah. // Being a non-smoker who lost a parent to smoking-related cancer, I find the 'hang out smoking' option not to my liking. // and a question, can the Futa be bypassed? Seeing a woman with meat and two veg is not for me!

Sacha is a different character than Sarah, and the "smoking" bit I can agree on. However, for your last question, the whole game is a futa on female/futa on male kind of game. To ask the developer to adjust this would be to make a new game. There are many female protagonist, non-futa games in the forums that would be more to your liking
Yep I've entered a world of meat and two veg! I guess that is the way the games are swinging these days as seem to be more and more of this genre. It's great when there is a choice. I like the female protagonists because they don't keep going on about their involuntary erections every scene! Some of the games leave a lot to be desired in that dialogue department when still the no-longer virgin male protagonist is still wittering on about 'will she notice my erection?'

Good game. Sadly it seems male MC is the main focus of the game (or developer is simply lazy to do two distictly different versions) so there isn't and probably never going to be any vaginal sex in the game. I don't mind futa on male but what I do mind are feminine dudes and even more so when you have feminine dude and a nerdy looking one. That's some brutal combo. Fem MC is cute, I like her. Well, I like her with her hair straight, not so much with that messy hairstyle she had at the earlier scenes. And what's with the weird nipple placement? Got inspired with botched plastic surgery victims?

I played the game a while ago, and yesterday I decided to start over from the beginning, but when it came time to choose between Sarah and Elise at the café, at the time you could choose one and then the other the next day to have both number register to replay the scenes, but this time they never come back...
Is there a way to get both of them like before (with a cheat code maybe), or has that been completely blocked?

Completely blocked off, unfortunately. Ever since the previous version (2.5) if you choose between those 2 girls, the other one's route is blocked off forever in that run. I remember this because I was left pretty bummed out about it, too. So now I just keep a save for Elise, and choose Sarah for my 'main' save, because imo she's not only way better than Elise, but the best girl overall.
Also, I'm afraid Zoey and Isabelle will end up just like that, once they'll receive new content for their own routes.
