Seriously? But why.... I can also be happy with just Sonja... She's the only reason I joined that clan... Suppose it can't be helped...though there was a line Mc said when talking to Nox after Ragnar's death... Some death match to determine the leadership... With one man standing to take it all... The only downside is Nox.. I've lost all interest in her.

Yes there will be a battle royale to decide who will be the next leader. The MC isn't a warrior, he would be easily defeated by someone like Sonja. That is why he needs Candrid's help, because without her shenanigans he will not be able to be the winner.
You can refuse the Harem and a relationship with Candrid if you want later, but you will still need her help.

Nope. But keep in mind that the update is primarily a Bloody Bears update, with only limited content for Dark Ravens and White Wolves.

BB got the biggest chunky of the content this update, has a scene with Candrid and one with Helga (but it makes Helga not want to join the MC's harem)
WW has some story content and the first sex scene between Arstja and the MC.
DR has some story content as well and a sex scene with Nox
