I've seen these too and more. There are so many things tha and variables to impact people it's a dictionary length list.

Languages also evolve within themselves. The English word can and has also be abbreviated... it doesn't just sit there in 'ye olde' English waiting on the Japanese to adapt it, then abbreviate it. I've read a bit of the other people's answers, but for me, I play from the protagonist's perspective and I don't like netorare, for that same reason I love netori (when the protagonist steals all the men's wives in the story and they stay with him, being fiercely loyal to him only). However, I sometimes play netorare only if it's a VN and I hit the CTRL key and ignore everything the cuckold says or thinks, and focus on the alpha and make him the true protagonist of the story.
