I agree, and I'm not surprised either.Shame to see this was probably abandoned, albeit understandable since no one jumped on the patreon.
Been burned too many times by single update games.
Expecting any money/recognition for a single update is foolish. The first few releases are to show that the dev has a 'professional' attitude and they can be trusted to deliver a game in the long term. Failing to do that will kill any project before they take off.
Then no updates for four month, not even a single post by the dev on patreon or here, to indicate that work is being done - and the project is more than a cashgrab. It's either being naive or entitled to believe that people will support a project with this attitutude in my opinion.
On the other hand, life can throw a sucker punch anytime, so maybe this is not entirely on the devs and they were just unlucky.
Anyway, even if you have some early success, you still have to keep being seen and talked about to grow any kind of following. Then again this outcome was kinda expected, since someone killed the early buzz by reporting every post with anything slightly negative in it. That's why this thread has a dozen posts left instead of a few hundred by this point. Not understanding that any conversation is better then no conversation is another failure for this project. Modern people and their need for safe spaces and echo chambers, eh?
Too bad they dropped the ball on this, since the game itself looked promising and the source material has potential. It could have been great.
