VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Something Special [v0.1.13] [WonderGames]

Updates are not really updates, few words and few pics just for the sake of this game popping up on 'latest updated'. Bugs, can't even load properly old versions and the fact that I was mad enough about newest updates does it enough for me, as many others, I will delete this game and live happily ever after.

Edit 1: 5 ratings upfront for the amazing characters and the potential. IF the game gets finished with all the kinks and fetishes, its a 4-5 star for sure. At the moment it is about 2-3 stars but worth keeping an eye on.

Pros:
+Good character renders
+The dialogues are good
+there are animations though a bit laggy


Cons:
-Weak plot, a huge area to improve on. Maybe make the prologue about what happened before the character wakes up and what is the point of waking up.
-the animations are lagging when just starting,once it loops its good
-the patch doesnt work very well at the moment, so expect a lot of names

Self explanatory. Maybe come back in 4 years to see if MC finally gets a handjob off someone who isn’t Afroman’s sister.

This project shouldn’t be supported any further if the updates are as far between and filled with as little content as this. If this was a AAA game the company would be bust instantly. “Sarah’s Life Syndrome” is the only way to describe this game and it’s dev.

This 'game' seems to have been written by a 6th grade boy.
At one point the MC wants to kick a naked woman out of the shower, so that he can jerk off in the shower.
At another point he is frustrated that a topless woman is sunbathing, when he was hoping to have alone time in the pool.
The MC and older daughter constantly insult each other and fight, then end up making out.
All the interactions are very juvenile; like how a 6th grader would act - where they are starting to become interested in sex, but they have no idea how to interact with women.
Also the choices aren't really choices; no matter what you choose you end up at the same place.
The only reason I went with 2 stars, instead of 1, is because the models are fairly sexy.

This has Great potential Firstly the Models are Gorgeous Each one is different, Animations are smooth The story has been done before! But that's not a bad thing the MC is very likable, this will go into My Fsv folder! I'm looking forward to new updates Two thumbs up hrom me!

It's just nonsense, the choice doesn't change anything. Then just make a visual novel or a comic, everyone will be better off.

Worse than I expected. Choices don't matter. Weak MC, to the point that this game needs the 'female domination' tag.

Take, for example, Tina. You can't reject her nor try to actively pursue her. Just passively try to reject her until she gets what she wants.

If I want to rebuff someone, let me spurn properly, not halfheartedly try to reject her.
If I don't, then also don't force me to halfheartedly try to rebuff her.

Something similar could be said about every 'choice'. One time, you wake up, there is a note beside the bed and you are given a choice between reading it and ignoring it. If you choose to ignore then the MC does a mental somersault and chooses to ignore the voice of his conscience (us) and read it.

Unless it turns out that in that particular universe there is no free will, then this game makes little sense. (Of course, it could be argued that all fictional universes lack free will, but they can still be written as if there was.) (Or maybe there is so much free will that we spectators can have no lasting influence on that universe )


Now, why did I have high expectations? Because of the preview images. Honestly, the art looks pretty good.

Also, despite the huge problem already mentioned, there were a few parts I enjoyed. When… Mag or Meg (candy girl) talked with the MC it was an ok conversation (specially given the eye candy I guess).

If in the future choices do matter I'd like to know.

The renders are well done and that is the only thing worth mentioning. The game is "engrish", has a completely passive main character, and no real plot.

Pros: The renders are all fairly well done. Not the best out there but definitely above average. The woman all have different body types so they won't bore the player.

Cons: The developer needs a proofreader to help with his English translation. It's not the worst I've seen but it can be confusing at some points. The MC, and therefore the player, is unable to refuse the advances of the neighbor no matter how inappropriate they are (handjob at breakfast, blowjob when someone else is in his room) to the point that I found myself intensely disliking a redhead. I despise games that force the MC/player to have sex, especially when they present a choice to "refuse" the person's advances but then still force the MC to have sex because they are too passive to actually refuse and physically push someone away.
This is a story on rails, the player's choices don't really matter, as shown by the character's inability to refuse Tina.

Good Points
+ Girls look cute/hot.
+ Animations are decent.
+ Render quality looks decent enough.

Bad Points
- The story is unoriginal and not interesting and we have a lot of odd/nonsense dialogue.
- We don't have enough content for stories or sex scenes.
- Choices don't matter.
- This is something nearly everyone agrees about this game, MC is not likable at all. In lots of scenes, MC acts like a little boy and it's straight-up nonsense and annoying AF.
- We have a character named Rachel, she is a total bitch, annoying and rude AF. She didn't get any character development either, her existence is a straight-up bad point.
- Sex scenes are kind of odd...
- Well the is abandoned... It's a good enough bad point alone.

This game had potential, but the execution of that potential is quite poor, DEV could have done a better job with this game even with little changes for sure... But he didn't and now the game is abandoned...

This is a badly written visual novel, no thought is put into story development or characters.

There is also only an illusion of choices given throughout, whereby no matter what you pick, the result is exactly the same.

Something Special is the poster child for good renders with nothing else behind them.

The writing in this game is abysmal. Some of the worst I've ever come across. There is no characterization or development; there is no humor or banter. There is only porny garbage and awkward phrasing. It's literally not worth going deeply into; it's just trash.

Gameplay-wise, there's also nothing to talk about. You have "choices" but most of them make no difference, and those that do result in something small happening loop backwards to the same events that the opposite choice enables. Just awful.

But hey, the renders are good. If this were a picture gallery, I would probably make a "hmm, not bad" face and nod a couple of times while flicking through them. But it's a game, so it's fucking terrible.

2 stars for the hot looking women, nothing else is worth any stars at all. The script..script?...what's laughably passed of as a story is non-sensical. These women have the misfortune of being trapped in a world were unrealistic adolescent tantrums and ridiculous conversations serve as story. The MC gets pursued by a very hot woman, why? He treats her like shit for no reason and she keeps coming back, why? incidentally none of the dialogue choices make a difference at all. To sum up all the Women look great but have really poor 1 dimensional personalities....oh and they are all insane.

This game should be called Something Awful.

The story is non-existant even if you were to retain some memory of it from the beginning it wouldn't matter at all as of version .0.0.7.
Overall the writing is bad, most dialogue is short clumsy, awkward and just flat out weird. Interactions between characters is very robotic and unnatural.

The MC is just one of those generic douchebag MC's.
All the other characters are one dimensional , no substance what so ever. One character you are forced upon no matter what choice you make, In fact no choices you make matter. None of it matters.

Nitpick, there choices that really dont belong at all, such as open door, or tell joke, You click them for no reason, just remove those.

As far as the renders go, The characters are actually surprisingly decent. The scenes need work, some look like the characters were copied and pasted in there with MS Paint. That is about as good as it gets with renders.

Best way to go about this fiasco is get someone to work together with on the writing. .

All in all this game is completely overrated.

Not only does it copy other games in set-up and characters, many games do that, it does so in an inelegant and over the top way.

Yes, the renders are good, but the writing is awkward and clumsy, the characters are cut-outs, you've seen their likes in dozens of games and the behaviour of the MC is completely inconsistent.
I mean, the horny neigbour is horny to an extent it's sexual harassment, the soldier aunt is practically completely bonkers, she should be institutionalized and the rest of the characters aren't much better.

And what's almost worse for a porn game, it is boring, both outside and inside of the sex scenes.
Again, the technical part is great, the story and writing is what is lacking.
I mean, there is absolutely no finesse, no seduction, for me it's not even erotic when the writing is so bland and unimaginative.


And once more this is a game which gets highest ratings either for what people HOPE it will become or for the one good thing, while completely ignoring the rest.

If the dev finds someone to help him write and concentrates on the renders, this could become a really good game.
Right now it's a bad one with great renders.

I don't know what the trend of unlikable, lazy douchy MC's is all about but it's not one i'm a fan of.

It might be the gender gap and I just don't see it but I have a hard enough time dealing with male MC's as it is so when it's one that's so unlikable with awful dialogue and worse choices I really struggle.

The dialogue is terrible. MC wakes up next to a gorgeous woman and won't give her a hug because he's only wearing shorts then proceeds to walk straight into a bathroom and stare at a woman showering then walk into another womans room ans stare at her. Creep factor up to 11 and we're only 3 scenes in.

It lost me when a gorgeous woman asks him to go moonlight swimming and he flat out says no. No choices, no nothing just refusal until she promises tits.

Next a stunning woman walks in his room and asks if he's pleased to see her and nope, no he isn't. You get a choice here between 2 shitty reactions which basically boil down to no.

I don't mind playing male MC's and i'm not looking for an alpha just a nice guy that isn't a creepy douche would be great.

Also dialogue that doesn't make everyone look foolish.

It looks pretty, that's as far as I can go with the praise.

Warning : The intro is kinda bad (pretty cringy and boring) and could easily make you quit right away. The presentations are so tedious and boring. I dont like the way it was done.

However, it gets better a little later when the action really starts. The humor become finally funny, and the dialogues finally interesting.

But the best part is when animations come into light.
Wow ! Those are a real piece of work ! Great job.

It is too early to totally judge this game, right now the story is lacking, the characters are a bit stereotypical, the renders are quite good and the "something special" is probably the quality of sex scenes which is within the best I have seen in these games.

This game has the hallmarks of something great on the basis of the first, I guess, prologue, that the game thus far is.

The renders are absolutely amazing, the story seems to actually exist (big plus off the bat straight away) and there are choices which seem to actually lead to consequences as well, hopefully. The story is not highly original, but the great visuals more than make up for it and I do already look forward to the next installment of this, but if the quality remains the same - then it is a must-play for the fans on this site.

A very promising start indeed! Very good looking renders and a bevy of beautiful girls including stunning MILFs as well as smokin hot babes. The text is clean, flows logically, and tells the story nicely. No typos and no 'engrish'. The story is fairly straight forward thus far but interesting nonetheless. Some nice enticing action to get the blood flowing, with plenty of slow burn tease making me hungry to see more.
Well done, and I'm looking forward to more.
