I wanna replay this game to make a save for the upcoming update. My question is: is the old version on the frontpage = patreon version? and the other one = Steam version? and what is the difference between them?

Yep. The main links are the "Book 1" Steam version, and what will be used going forward.

The only noticble differences are just annoying Steam-suggested censorship.

Early on a legally of age girl is in a realistic and very modest private school uniform. She's now in street clothes.

Later another LI used to have a scene where she put on her old school uniform top. That's also been removed.

And for some odd reason, a decent joke about Amrit having two dads has been very clumsily replaced.

There may be others but those are the ones that stood out to me.

Yep, though it's worded a bit shit on my part. If you look at the old filename it says pt7, and the new links say Book1Patreon, that just means it's the Patreon, release rather than a cracked Steam copy. Book 1 is the important part.

If you glance at the Changelog, it says
"Book 1: This build is recommended for new players or those who want saves compatible with the Steam version as well as Part 8."

Not necessarily, all it's doing is showing you the variables and their possible outcomes.
If you Kiss Her,

You will always gain InesLove+4

If amritpermanentfriendzone is False (meaning you're not friendzoned) she'll be hurt, and you'll lose -3 Amritlove. If you are in the friend zone, this doesn't apply.

This will also always give amritinterestedingirls+3

If you go into the Mod Menu, click 'More Cheats' near the top then the Variables tab that particular one is on Page 4 for me. Be aware though this is an easy way to get spoilers as every major choice is listed there.

So I'm pretty sure this hasn't been shown yet.....but wtf is Elspeth's deal? Like I know if you don't stay with her after hanging out with her dad she says some weird shit and his reaction to her being a pacifist is odd like she got into fights all the time. Also pretty sure she's a fucking psycho with some weird hidden agenda, but what exactly has illuded me. It can't all be her trying to get with you because she thinks you're just as fucked up as her, can it?

And before anyone asks about the psycho comment, its true. She shits on you if you ogle her, but also gets mad if you think she just wants to be friends. She starts and argument with you then immediately takes her clothes off to keep you around, then drops the whole thing because you don't immediately drop your guard around her. A woman mind you that has her walls up 100% of the time while she lies and secretly records conversations and has hidden files about shit. No one does this shit after the military to this extent unless A) shes still in or B) shes a fucking psycho.

Nah, She is trying to suppress her violent tendencies and confrontational ones by trying to be a pacifist. She scares herself because of probably her military service where I believe she probably had to kill someone in cold blood and it fucked her up. Her only hidden agenda seems to be she doesn't trust people and secretly spies on and records them. Like the meeting with the dad she had some surveillance microphone in her purse and her military buddy is spying on Valentine (It hasn't been revealed yet if this is entirely true but I think it is.) She admits to Vi she hates unsolved puzzles and mysteries. I am thinking someone betrayed her in her past that has yet to be revealed that causes her to be like this. We will probably find out for sure in Book 2.

Remember Valentine asks him and Els why they never wound up together and neither answers in a way that would lead one to think he's gay. Like, if someone asked a woman why she's not dating a gay man, that woman would probably point out that he plays for the other team. Or just laugh at how ludicrous the suggestion is and how oblivious the person was that made the suggestion. Also, Alistair remarks that what's up with him is something Valentine should know, as if he was embarrassed to tell him (and who's embarrassed about being gay in current year?) and it sorta came out when they were drunk or something which is why Valentine doesn't remember.

My guess is he got his dick blown off in the war but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

I don't think Alistair is embarrassed about being gay, he's embarrassed for Valentine not being able to realise it after knowing him for so long. Elspeth isn't one to air out someone else's business unless they have permission so it makes sense to not say anything.

And also remember that he's part of an old military family (I think that's it? been a while since I played) so that would definitely play a part in him being wary about his sexuality being out there.
