I think interest in this game has gone down the last few releases.
It used to be that people were exited about it, but the ever increasing delays, and now art shift has probably caused people to be 'meh' about it.

Yeah, this is a pirate website and for the dev that is great news, but the last year I've seen people be way more exited about what fanart was released than the game itself.
Reckon that's what happens when you compound not fulfilling promises with announcing you're going to use AI art.

I really liked this game at the beginning, but I don't like the recent changes where the female bodys getting bigger and bigger. The breasts and butts are getting bigger and bigger and so are the muscles and body sizes. I miss the variety from the beginning.
This is a pretty common thing for amateur artists where if they aren't able to actually improve their drawing ability they either start hyper-exaggerating boobs/butts/dicks or veer into depicting increasingly degenerate acts. Or both.

The point made about porn art degradation from artists increasingly using their own work as references instead of the original ones is an excellent, and it explains a lot of why so many amateur artists stagnate or regress since they're so used to closely adhering to references and outright tracing.

To be fair, SR7 isn't an "amateur" artist. He's been drawing rule34 content for a very, very long time, pretty sure it's well over a decade at this point. What we're seeing isn't degradation of skill, or SR7 using his own artwork as reference causing proportion issues. Is he probably using his old artwork to provide a basis for his current stuff? Yes. Is it why his new stuff looks bad? No. The new Catwoman is a good example of this as we have no previous sexual content to go by and her previous design was essentially a slightly bustier take on the BTAS design.

The difference between the new and the old is too severe for it to simply be degradation of style. This is a conscious shift in artistic style to facilitate faster creation of content and to pander to the support base he and his partner have cultivated. What we're seeing is a decision to cut away as much variety as possible, where the only body types are busty, bustier, and even bustier with muscles. Even if we ignore the fact that he's copy-pasting characters together resulting in deformed monstrosities, or that Lex has a telescopic dick that in some scenes looks only slightly larger than average and in others is like a foot and a half long and thicker than a can of coke, or that he's stopped maintaining a consistent design across content, the fact of the matter is that he's reduced his art style of a "one size fits all" take on the characters where the resemblance to the DCAU originals ceases outside of their faces. This is too specific and targeted of a shift for it to actually be degradation.

Devs went quiet
Just a quick glance at their pateron and they really slowed down on updates

This gets me wondering if the devs realized that ai art isn't as simple as writing some lines together (if you are teaching the program yourself) I mean hell they couldn't even make a mock up to show patrons why it's useful and ripped it off some image on a other thread on this site

Wait, did they use an image from the fanart thread to showcase their use of AI?

12 gb? It's less then 5 gb
Which version do you have? I'm looking at the last version I played a while ago (2.4.1) that for some reason I still have extracted and it is indeed close to 12 GB (11.3 GB in my case). The downloaded archive on the other hand is less than 5 GB

I'm no artist, but what you're saying feels right to me. The art shift feels like a conscious choice rather than a degradation.

If the game started with this art, I think I would enjoy it just as much. It's not like his current art is bad, some blatant copy-pastes aside. It's just that it feels a little generic when almost all of the women are busty or too muscly. The art is still perfectly serviceable, but compared to older stuff it has certainly lost some of its charm and individuality... For example, I miss some of the more petite heroes like Batgirl and Supergirl. Those were my favorites.

And if only that was the biggest problem. For me the greatest problem of this game is the almost complete lack of plot advancement. I'd love for the devs to interconnect some of the standalone events and storylines or just show some impact for Lex's actions. We just grab new girls, blowjob, sex, anal and done, the girls love Lex. There's barely even any dialogue anymore to sell the concept of corruption. I get it we're here for the porn, but again compare the old Batgirl, Supergirl, Canary, Lois, etc, content with the recent girls. It's night and day. Oh well...

compression for images ≠ bad coding
I want to point out that almost no "coding," in the traditional sense of the word, happens in this game. This game is built in a unity tool called "Fungus". This tool is a gui driven system that lets you connect scenes together, add images, dialogue, etc. and it will generate the code and compile it for you.

So the code is probably terrible, almost all gui generated code is. This is also why bugs are so random and difficult to solve. The version of Fungus used is very old, it cannot be updated (they've tried) and this is, by far, the largest project ever built with it. The creators of fungus are surprised it works at all. Take that for whatever you want, but that's the code situation of this game.

There is an android version built in ren'py. I'm less sure of the in's and out's of that production, but I may have a playable version on my PC from decompiling the version available that I vastly prefer to the damn unity one.
