That's his whole problem, and has been for ages. SR7 barely cares about anything beyond his own bubble and fetishes.

People on Discord, so mostly paying members, have been asking for additional heroines, some expansion of the actual plot or the return of discarded mechanics (such as the threat level) back when I was somewhat active on there...in 20-fucking-20. When the art was still decent, and he actually put some effort into the game.

Since then he has only doubled down on stuff he finds amusing/important (such as Themyscira) while covering everything up with the age-old excuse of "it is my project, I'm doing more shit than most other developers, so shut the fuck up" (something he was already saying back when this thing was still in its infancy, and people ripped him a new one on Reddit for issues that became only more glaring over time, such as laziness and unjustified spending of Patron money).

SR7 doesn't care about his rep, because he is convinced that he's doing it for himself, and the rest are just along for the crappy-ass ride. He used to put effort into the shit he did, and tried to be an actually decent artist, but that was when he just started becoming big-time famous, before Something Unlimited. Some people still remember that (like I do) and still give him downloads and hate-clicks, even if on websites like this.

And since slop (as in, mediocre background noise released by people/companies still coasting off previously built, better, reputation and the accompanying goodwill) is the name of the game now (see Netflix) he still sees enough investment to continue this little charade while not realizing that people have long ago given up on actually liking SU and the retention is for some part formed by the likes of us, laughing with him and hate-downloading pirated copies of the game (once again, Netflix).
This whole evolution also isn't helped by the fact that there is quite a significant portion of his (or any) fanbase that apparently likes chicks with a-bombs strapped to their chests and less brains than an actual lobotomy case, and are willing to invest into shit like that.

So yeah, this is - sadly enough - not surprising in the slightest. His ego is so inflated by this point he might actually start using fucking OpenAI any day now, and still think that everyone else just doesn't understand him and his unique work.

So far I didn't see much love for the new designs, mainly because I think people like me played the game because of the initial artstyle that is first closer to the original DCAU style, and second it was just more appealing and consistent. So changing that expecting that people would like the new astyle is foolish, and also the lack of good content, the amount of it, and content not being finished is staggering, it's competing with Ubisoft level of sense to me...
I would imagine that an artist would care for his reputation a bit more. Money is great, but having people excited for what you do should have a lot of value. I don't know if now people will care for his new projects, especially with this new artstyle. It's overall disappointing, it was my favorite game for a while but now I can't be excited for new updates.

DPC puts out 9001x more content with Being a DIK than SR7 does. Including proper grammar, spelling, story, and consistent characters.

Could someone recommend a specific walkthrough for this game?

I played this game for the first time last year and consider revisiting it, but I don't want to do it without a guide, for the game is kind of a mess. I like the writing and the art but the games all over the place...

There's at least a docent storylines that don't go anywhere so far. Which is fine - it's still in development after all.
Than there are really many mechanics and side objectives, that do a little bit but than stop progressing. They may still have a role later though, idk ...

In short, I have absolutely no idea of how much of the game I've played.
Do I simply have to repeat action to progress? Yeah sometimes, other times it's just a dead end for now...
Does this storyline go anywhere yet and I should pursue it? Sometimes, other times it's just a hole bunch of nothing...
Can this character progress still? Some can, others can't take a wild guess and try repeating actions a couple docent of times, it's a trainer game after all ...
Am I just experiencing bugs? Maybe...

Honestly I'm just confused, as even what to do and what is a waste of time for most part of the gameplay. Also there's so much stuff, that I can't keep track of what I've already tried or still have to do.

When I reached the Themyscira (sidestory?) I played it a bit and quit the game, when all the questions I had about the main game started to apply there as well. It also raised additional ones.
Is this like a hole other arc now?
Does it belong in the main quest?
Is it somewhat optional like the seasonal events?
Why is there a stand alone version also?
Does it differ and should I be playing that instead?
And does it even go anywhere yet, or am I just repeating actions that don't have consequences?

All of this is so confusing, convoluted, and frustrating - I know I didn't unlock nearly everything, but there has to be a better way of progression than trying random stuff. And the changelogs don't do a good job in telling you, what your supposed to be doing.

He could abandon it tomorrow, or he could keep going for another decade (so 3 updates - all of them late of course) and abandon it then, and nobody in here would be surprised by either outcome.

You'll notice that it isn't "complete" in either situation.

Which, btw, I think the "possibility of more content" for main girls like WW or Raven is like the only remaining good thing about this game. Because at this point it's become an overinflation of side characters no one gives a damn about. And it's not even provided by the dev, it's mostly our hopes we carry. Coss the dev only brings deception. I think for everyone's case, in the past 4 years, he has delivered 1 maybe 2 good updates we kinda liked. Hardly worth the wait.
If he had focused on breaking heroines, it would have been a different case. But no, he saw the chance to milk. And people rewarded him for it.

I do think new Starfire looks hotter although we only see her as a waitress. And Supergirl not bad either.
