No, parody lawguys if dc wanted could they take the game down?
And if they do then it brings more attention to it
No, parody lawguys if dc wanted could they take the game down?
Yes, if they wanted to force the issue. But it will cost a lot money in the process. But it could be a double edge sword if gunsmoke defended and won on the grounds of parody as that would then weaken the IP holder's rights OR prove that DC had intentions of doing porn. I also suspect a lot of these female and minor characters don't have as broad of IP protections. A further issue is since the game is 'free' its harder to prove monetary damages.guys if dc wanted could they take the game down?
They did make them change the name way back when... Which implies someone at DC knows they exist.guys if dc wanted could they take the game down?
What new on this update?2.4.8 save
First try, no idea if it works. Make a backup.
All of what you just said, never stopped Disney or Nintendo from going after peeps for using their material.Yes, if they wanted to force the issue. But it will cost a lot money in the process. Indeed. Apparently SR7 got some compliments for the quality of his artwork. This was before the current copypasta of course. They did make them change the name way back when... Which implies someone at DC knows they exist.![]()

It was the video game devs defending the title (from what I can ascertain). Since they do not own the character IPs they didn't enforce the IP. I suspect gunsmoke also got some advice about not incorporating the male superheros since DC is much more protective of those IPs and that income. That could have even been in the C&D letter they received.Indeed. Apparently SR7 got some compliments for the quality of his artwork. This was before the current copypasta of course.
DC do seem to allow people a little more leeway regarding the parody defence - presumably their lawyers have a different viewpoint than Disney's or Nintendo's.
(I used to work for a corporate law firm - ask any two lawyers about an 'interesting' legal question, you'll get three or more viewpoints!)
Road map 2025
We are all ready to kick off 2025 here at GG and we're going to share news with you guys regarding many things to kick off our year. Here are some highlights from last nights town hall.
Goodbye Timed Releases!
As many of you know we struggle with firm deadlines in the creation of SU. This isn't something unique to us, and really is something that is a problem with any creative entity. So we have made the decision to stop delivery updates bi-monthly, and move to a volume style of delivery. We're aiming to have content be just as regular (6 updates), but now we will work towards a total size of update rather than a date. Our current aim is 30-35 scenes per update, and our target currently is end of February for the next update.
Ren'py Ren'py Ren'py
Unity and fungus are obsolete to a point it's impacting content creation, and satisfaction levels of everyone who plays SU. So to facilitate our move to cleaner, more well received content we're going to most updates being in Ren'py. This doesn't mean Unity is dead, and it will get updated as well. But the number of Unity updates will be limited.
Areas Of Focus
Gotham will be the first update this year, and that is all that is really planned. Bend or Break 2 is 100% going to be worked on this year, and work is slated to start early. Scope and size are being reeled in to create something very fun and playable. Themyscira's ending will get a rework and more content will be flushed out, and the final stamp on Themyscira hopefully will come. Outside this we're taking a much more adaptable approach to what content we're going to be working on.
A New Look At Content
When asked what we do, we always answer with "we make VN's" which is correct. But really what we make is stuff that engages you guys, and hits on certain feelings (I know ewww). If that is nostalgia, power, corruption, lust, or just seeing raven's goth bobs. We're going to create a "filter" to which our content has to pass. This will result in us having fewer misses, and more steady content that you can come to expect. Look for future posts that we will engage you guys to help us nail down what these "feelings" are.
The Message
Our messaging has always been a strong point, and we're looking to strengthen that in 2025. To coincide with our new update style we will be enhancing teaser week, to teaser weeks. This means when you see a teaser come out, a build is coming out with a "date". We will have the build in hand ready to deliver all tested and finalized. As well we will keep you all more involved with more updates on content creation and target areas as we move forward in the year.
Again we want to thank you all for your continued support
Not having timed releases r BS. This dude regularly underdelivers and is using this as a reason to procrastinate imo.Road map 2025

Yup it was only a matter of time. Now watch as they produce even less content, despite their assurances.I was honestly wondering how long till he just nixed them and said it was a good thing.
