So what was the point of the date in the fire teaser then?

He apologized for "having fun" with the teasers and causing people to be angry, that must be why people was getting angry, the date not meaning anything, unclear messages, or something around those

The biggest issue for me wasn't even the teasers itself since they usually get figured out quite fast, but the misleading date with the "hurrdurr we know what it is and it's not what you think huehuehueheue it's great *furiously wank to own tease post*" shenanigans on discord coupled with getting upset over upset commentary on the patreon page that broke the cammels back.

Nothing wrong with having some mild fun but there is a limit for everything and they overdid it.

Yeah, the teasers on their own were completely fine. But they knew damn well what stating a date was implying. That was a lie, nothing more.
The date was Monday Dec 16... 12/16 the date we posted the beginning of these riddles. I don't understand how that was implying anything. Plus that post had zero complaints, it was the third and last post users started to complain. The complaints were due to notifications, and lack of context. People felt the teasers were us just doing random Videos (which we never even had done in 4.5 years). With 5% of comments complaining and a final post incoming we cancelled it, issued an apology and gave a date for the release (which would have been given the next day). We will come back to this format as we had a lot of fun (discord and the community as a whole). We will however provide a bit more context prior.

It would have been fine, if the community didn't already perceive Gunsmoke as having an issue with communicating with their audience. Locke really didn't help that perception either since his idea of communicating was attacking people for anything he perceived as a slight and he was the most vocal. Also having a Discord Server is great and all. If people are on the Discord. Some people just want the information to be presented in an upfront manner on the Patreon like it has been for the past year.

Really. You honestly don't know what including a date in a teaser for a future release is implying? Come on.
The date of the post was Monday Dec 16th aka 12/16 which also happened to be what was said in the video. Honestly don't know how that implied any untruths, which you stated in your previous post.

Stating a date in a teaser implies a release date. I genuinely can't believe that has to be spelled out.
Stating today's date in a post is just stating today's date. But clearly you seem to have an agenda. Just so you know, the complaints were revolving around notifications (out of our hands), and no context (which was international). Not one person complained about the date.

I for one enjoyed the mystery and the riddles (insert Gollum gif here). It's kinda sad to see how some people can't understand that when you give yesterdays date out in a video and there are no teasers before that, that it does not mean that's the release date. Oh well. Have fun GG! Cause if you're not having fun, then something in wrong.
