So right now we're working on the process to get that done. This next build will be the ground for which BoB2 gets started. Meaning in a two month dev cycle with zero planning BoB2 would never see the light of day. Events get added with way to much scope and we kick the can down the road (Themyscira is a great example). Now with planning, scope is being tightly monitored, and we have a plan for BoB2. Hopefully getting BoB2 started in Nov and a release in Feb. That is unless people are requesting other things.
Hell yeah. Looking forward to it.

Fapokso, I'm really glad you shared this! As this provides more narrative to what I have been saying about planning being non-existent. This image was released in June/July of 2023 (I believe). We just released the Android version of SU, and I wanted to address much of the questions around BoB2 (as we had already slated it for work in 2024). I brought to the team a conversation on how we can show that work was being done on the project. I woke up on a Saturday to see this posted, without any discussion. In my opinion this was a mistake, and only would fuel posts like yours in perpetuity.

SR7 and myself have been talking about BoB2 since 2017. There isn't a user out there that wants this more than us.

Again thanks for showing this.

This is like the first time I've ever seen GS being so active on F95 responding to everyone lately
Thanks for noticing! We had feedback, and noticed that people who don't actively support were extremely misinformed, and it was due to lack of information.

After the last build I had several active users in this thread score our build. One of the sections is communications, and every one on F95 gave us a N/A or 0. Our supporters all gave us a 9-10/10. So I came here and looked over, and there were people saying we hadn't updated in 5+ months, directly after a build. We had people say we released builds over 3+ months late. We have always had non-supporters on our discord, and I opened a free member chat on Patreon. But that clearly wasn't enough.

So instead of combating misinformation with "I'm right, you're wrong", we took a more narrative/story building approach to handling this thread. So if anything this thread will operate, with the full narrative, and we can have dialogue around the facts.

*This thread historically has been extremely off narrative compared to our actual supporters, and we're to blame for that. But there are some great comments in here that made us change certain things.

What do I need to start fixing the game from scratch, guys? I'd like to learn Unity and use this project to practice. If I do well applying what I've learned, I'd like to support you. I don't promise results, but now that I have a lot of free time, it would be fun to try.

Great question Pablojamis! I do really appreciate you approaching this in a very constructive way.

First off I would advise against "fixing" or "rebuilding". The reason is we are so far ahead and have full time people, and you're not privy to inside info. So that means if you felt you were getting somewhere after months of hard work, we could very well make a switch and your time ends up wasted.

What I think is a great usage of resources for you would be to make a small narrative experience with the assets we already have. This would cut your time down, and allow your scope to match your commitment. Take one of your favourite areas and expand on it. Keep it small, and you will get something out. This would allow you to learn Unity. Naninovel looks cool, but costs some money.

But if you want to rebuild it you're looking at 4+ years full time.

I understand now. Thank you so much for the explanation. In fact, now that I've seen more of the theory, I realize how complicated it is to add some things that users and I have requested (at the time). I apologize and hope your efforts bear fruit.

If you wanted it then it would be done. Something Unlimited is a decade deep into development with practically no finished content outside of the cells. Updates have gotten further and further apart with no increase in content and a marked decrease in quality. You've had years of time to work on BoB2 with nothing to show for it and you expect anyone to believe that you actually want it made? You don't want to make it, you just want people to think you do so you can continue to make money off of stolen intellectual property.

Oriandu, first I want to apologize that we have made you so angry and frustrated. That was never our intent. I also want to say that there is some truth to what you're saying, but there is also some inaccuracies. So in order to have good dialogue and take your points and address them, we need to both operate in the same factual reality.

"If you wanted it then it would be done".
That minimizes the actual problem to just a simple statement. It's much more complex than that. Our plan was to work on BoB2 in the last half of 2024. But when 2.4.7 released, and it being the best single build in 5 years we decided to follow that with more.

"Updates have gotten further and further apart, with no increase in content, and a marked decrease in quality".
In my opinion this is your feelings masquerading as facts. Prior to this years change, our latest delivery was 14 days late. Prior to that it was 11 days. In fact late builds were not even a top 10 concern for patrons, but were a #1 concern for a piracy forum. If there is no increase in content, it's because we're maintaining our scene count expectations. Which is true with a but, 2.4.7 had over 6 months of built up content in it, so it's size wasn't relative to the two month cycle (This is why builds feel low in content). The decrease in quality again is only showing up here. 2.4.7 was the best received build in over 5 years, and the Gotham 0.51 was very close to that.

"don't want to make it, you just want people to think you do so you can continue to make money off of stolen intellectual property".
I heard a quote the other day, and it's very relevant to this comment. If someone must be lying in order for something to make sense, then you don't under that thing.

There has been a few people in this thread that even if we addressed all their concerns (which several of yours I believe are just feelings and not based on facts) they would still not be happy. I feel you would be one of those individuals. I'm sorry that our project we started 10 years ago made you so frustrated.

If the artstyle changed drastically and can't go back it's better to make a new project,
they did find a temporary solution by using characters that are not the characters used before to not have comparisons but now things have suffered with the updates, direction in events and just plain presentation of development.

Using monetized dev logs on patreon where it now has a community message system or do what Akabur did and keep a newsletter by email is quite frankly sad.
Undermines the tried and tested tools of forums (discord), e-mail and general communication.

4 months - 6 months is to long of a wait time, it's no longer wait a year and see nice updates it's wait a decade to see a full event done. By the time 3 updates rolled out everyone would change their minds in the direction the game is developing 3 times.

Can things go back to what they were before?

In _general_ asking amateur devs to produce things quicker than 3 months leads to lower effort and shorter content. That is done all for the sake of an arbitrary deadline. Let the devs cook and not feel pressured that they have to get something out. It's greedy of fans to demand some sort of constant satisfaction. On the flip side the dev needs keep the fans informed on the progression
