i mean haven't they themselves essentially admit that their code is pretty shit by making a rebuild and releasing countless updates with tons of bugs?

The game has been developed for 4.5 years under a constant deadline. Corners have been cut to deliver things. Not to mention there is iterations of things that no longer are useful, design flaws, many things. We ourselves want the rebuild, it's to free up time to attack other projects and ideas (like OC).

There are only 2 things on my SU wishlist.
1. Some kind of Lexcorp calendar with models in it(villainesses? Heroines? Both?)
2. More Ivy having a go with the heroines in the bordello

I won't comment on the rebuild, but game development is an exercise in barely scraping by with functional builds of the game until the team is able to stop making new content and finally able to focus on making everything work well enough to release a final product. Something Unlimited is constantly in a state of development and until GSG decides that it's feature complete and time to start working solely on the bugs so they can release a complete product it always will be. Of course quite often releases for SU are straight up missing content and have the same bug repeating over and over again, so you certainly have a point about the game having some issues beyond what should be acceptable.

How much do you think a complete SU with everyone's wishlists ticked off would go for on Steam?

It would take less than a month for a programmer to add all the common VN features and a bit of code that can run tests on the game. The problem is there are no programmers on this project. The entire thing is made with a VN builder that uses flowcharts.

Hard to guess but given the art style and writing I think 20-30 isn't unreasonable if not a bit on the higher end of what people would pay for an H game. Maybe safer at 10-20 but it'd have to sell a lot, like real AA numbers, not indie numbers.

I've come to feel that as well. Abridging this thread into a FAQ would simplify most people's reasons for reading it, and rob most people's reasons for adding to it.

Key word - 'game'. It's not a game unless you can win, and you can't 'win' if there's no way to lose. Given there's no skill content, reflex tests, level checks, grinding requirements or item farming - missable content is the only way to play.

GG i wanna say that i recently found out your game and now it is one of my favorite games out there. The stylization is beautifully done to fit the mature tone, the characters are properly re imagined, fitting and well done. Keep up the great work!

That’s right we are going to begin to focus on older characters. This means your favorite girls (WW,Huntress, Black Canary, Zatana, etc…) will begin to start getting content in 2020. New girls will still be added (because you know us, and we will add more), it just means the majority of content you will get this year will be of old characters.

Completion Updates Are Gone

No more promise of a completed character, during a cycle. Completion updates put us in a very tight box, and it resulted in lots of stress and buggy builds. So we are doing away with those updates. Instead you will get a sprinkling of content for several characters, that will include sex! We’re hoping this means higher quality builds, with less bugs.

No Formal Roadmaps!

That’s right, we will not be saying who and where content will be focused month to month. So in order for you to get an understanding of who is being worked on you will have to pay attention to Streams, Discord, Twitter, and Patreon.

February: Halloween, plus clean up
April: Old character focus begins!

Overall 2020

June/July: Gunsmoke Games website This will be the main area for you to get your Gunsmoke Games content! Fully incorporating Patreon API, and a traditional forum where you can have discussions outside the realms of our discord.

Throughout 2020 The beginning stages of OC work, leading to an eventual release on Steam.
