SR7 released like clockwork for years, every month, never missing a beat. Then he switched to the bimonthly and ait went to hell. There's a reason why the software industry has moved toward agile development, with an emphasis on making constant small releases. It is a hell of a lot easier to debug a small release than a big one; not only do you have fewer changes to look at, but they are more recently in your mind and thus the inevitable bugs are far easier to troubleshoot. And make no mistake, once software exceeds "typical VN" complexity debugging the code is the hard part, not writing it.

I tried to talk them out of it on the Discord and Patreon, but they ignored me-- I mean, what the hell does a professional software engineer know about release scheduling? So they went to fewer, bigger releases, and that causes the same problems for them it causes for every developer. Yes, developers hate releases so the shit model is tempting for amateurs, but it still sucks for the end users.

Since they are having more trouble hitting these deadlines, they're going to want to make the deadlines even *bigger*, which of course will make the problem much worse. (Kinda like socialism logic-- socialize shit, which blows up the economy, oh noes people are broke, we need moar socialisms!)
I think you might be misremembering the "clockwork" release schedule. Sure the updates arrived on time, but more often than not they had next to no content in them. In some cases they literally had no content at all. SR7 has been dropping the ball on releases since very early in development of Something Unlimited.

Do you remember thous updates? They were so insanely small there was almost no point playing. I would save up three months of releases before bothering to play them.

I mean compare these change logs.

Based on the discord, SR7 said this update will be large. Besides, since this is the last update this year, it takes longer to release the least buggy version possible. Expect a new version to be released in early December.

Most people don't remember the first updates. For almost half year we have only 10 characters
4 of them villains for hire
3 starting girls-Batgirl,Huntress and Black Canary
Mercy,Tala and Roulette
It takes more than 1 year to actually get Supergirl,Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl to enter the game and have a scene or two in GS.
Based on the discord, SR7 said this update will be large. Besides, since this is the last update this year, it takes longer to release the least buggy version possible. Expect a new version to be released in early December.
I wonder which kind of update we are going to.
1.Add all cell content for Huntress,Black Canary and Zatanna
2.Add all MB content for all 7 superheroines that still don't have
3.Finish most of the characters that are missing a scene or two, there is a lot
4.Add the content we already saw in the streams for the last year-Zatanna,Black Canary,Huntress,Blackfire,Livewire,Galatea,Vixen,Hawkgirl,Wonder Woman,Supergirl

For me, Poison Ivy is not assignable anywhere. Her icon is more faded compared to the rest, and she cannot be dragged and dropped. She can't be sent to heists either. Any one aware of this issue? (2.2.8, Mac)

Yeah usually the release would be out today if you look at how long they take to do releases. So yeah, I would expect a week or more from the teaser.
I am kinda hoping we can just skip teaser week and he just drops the update.
The patreon post indicates teasers so unfortunately you won't get your wish.
