avenger is going to do his own English translation so worst comes to worst we will have to wait

FWIW hangman , dspeed left his 29 dictionary a few pages back. I ran 30 through QSPTools using it with the "void translator" (per ttant's instructions in another thread). There was a problem with the car (wheelbarrow) variable in "gs_gg_img_home". I had to delete the line to get the translation to work properly, though I ?lost? 8 locations.

Car (wheelbarrow) variable also appeared in "home" @ "if $args[0] = 'sister_go_walk'" (deleted this line prior to translating also).

Then found errors in the phone. ALL errors involved the backassed apostrophe "`" in double quoted variables.
ie. "'<img src="pic/interface/phone/npc/<<$character_Лена[`'Photo'']>>">'".

Other than all new text being Russian, it appears to be working OK.

No shit! If I understand correctly (from his "translated" blog comments), everything is triggering from the "gs_check_enter_area" checks. Here's hoping you change your mind about continuing, and that maybe I'll get off my ass and offer to help :)

When i did translate some sqp russian game, i remember that varaible should be kept on one word.
I mean if russian use one word but english version is a sentence, all " " (space) should be replaced by something else (like _ or nothing
Another issue was the same translation variable. Ie varA and varB both translated the same way. This make the game bugged as hell. So also check that point.
There were probably some other stuff to check, but i can't recall, it was very long time ago.

Hello, everyone:)

I'm getting back into game development! I've had various family issues, and I've also had a severe covid.

But let's get to the good stuff. I am now starting to work on the 30th update of the English version of SOB. It will be based on the Russian version of the game, which was recently released:) The first transition to the new update system will not be quick. But I hope it will help me release English game patches faster in the future.

This has nothing to do with the fact the game is NOT ABANDONED, m8. Dev is active (his last post says enough) and development is still going with a new update even.

I understand they won't update OP with the russian version, for whatever reason. They used to... But whatever.

Btw, you can also use your mod account. Np. ;)

The fact that the dev was gone and not posting anything anywhere for more than 6 months marked the game abandoned and as per site rules until an English version is uploaded here the tag remains.

Sorry if you don't follow rules but here the rule is the rule.

Its been more than 2 years now since a English version was uploaded and once again until one is then the tag remains.

You are simply making stuff up. There's NO rule abandoned tag can only be removed with an eng update. Stop making your own imaginary rules, m8.

This is how things have been from the start of this site:
Dev not communicating and/or updating game for 6+ months? Game goes "onhold" or "abandoned" until there's been word of dev about new game progress. In this case dev is again active and actually even providing an update (even working on english translation), so dev has NOT abandoned his game.

C) He's working on a eng version based on his latest russian version

Weird thing to argue about, if anything mods should be more liberal with the abandoned tag on this site to warn people that if they donate to devs, those donations may be going nowhere.

Like by the sounds Avenger has the update ready to rock and will be posting it soon. The abandoned tag has been there for 12 months now a few more days won't make a difference while we wait.
