There is barely H-scene in this game.. dont bother if you want to see the porn.. still a good read tho
Well, that's after all what the company has always be about. Sparse softcore pornography with a story focus and design one can consider to be heavily inspired by Lovecraft. I'm not sure what is Cthulhu and what is not (never read the original, so I'd only know if it was an 'in your face' reference and I did only read one and a quarter of a Liar Soft) but their genre, apart from Steampunk / 'romanticizing' the Victorian Era, mostly lean hard into the same Dark Fantasy Mystery Horror Atmosphere.

Maybe someday I'll be in the mood to read more. Oddly enough, I thought I had purchased Gahkthun but alas I could find it neither on my MG nor in my Steam library.

On a side note, I just noticed, I suppose these genre only applies to their "~What a [...]~"-Series but that's what they are mostly know for. Other titles though still appear to be Near Future Science Fiction which isn't all that different to Steampunk (it was the Near Future Sci-fi of the middle 19th to early 20th century). One does also call it Cyberpunk to not confuse Near Future Sci-fi with Far Future Sci-fi (which often involves planetary and galactic travel if not also aliens) while it also underlines the close relation to Steampunk.

Please excuse my literary musings in a forum for another kind of gentlemen but that work is after all what presents a link between gentlemen and gentlemen. Namely one can be both depending on the mood. :BootyTime:

The games aren't particularly connected from what I remember, the only common point is that they are steampunk. I don't think they are even the same universe. Except Forest, which if I recall, was just a fantasy acid trip referencing Alice in Wonderland and featuring a bunch of folklore characters and even that isn't connected.

I love liarsoft! They have wonderful art direction, world building and great prose.

They don't have many sex scenes, but they ones they do have tend to be like those in an R-rated movie, intending to develop character or show changing relationships between characters. I strongly recommend reading What a Beautiful People, which as a steampunk epic fantasy is pretty brilliant.

However, I've noticed in their recent games they've gotten unfortunately more and more rapey :cautious: hope that isn't the case in this one. If you're gonna make your sex scenes like that, just make something erotic instead...
