Sure, but with Sorcerer's case there's more paths to consider. For example did you choose Nagas or the demon hunters.
Sorcerer actually had an ending tho unlike S:TR. We didnt get an S:TR ending till 2 was done. Can't imagine him moving forward with the same MC knowing kids will be involved unless one of them is the new MC.

But seriously, if he does the "harem is canon" thing, that could be solved with a question. I know there are other "one-or-the-other" choices, so maybe there will be a save import, or just a bunch of questions. Who knows.

The previews imply that he is moving forward with the same group. It doesn't have to be far enough in the future for the kids to be old enough to "be involved" any more than they were in S:TR2.

Sorcerer wasn't built for save exporting in mind. So no save exporting/importing. But it isn't that complicated, you know.
Canon: It's the Sorcerer Lord ending, aka slept with everyone who was interested. And since it is a sequel it means your survived the encounter with Malachai! Hooray! So I only really need to know two things: Gorgons vs. Fiery Fangs and did or didn't you sleep with Li (Mrs. Zhou). That's it, yes in canon you encounter Ishani and the Spirit of the Glade, then slept with Laen (the Hag) and brought Gertrud in to the House. Then rest is derived from the Gorgons vs Fiery Fangs choice... that's it those are the real choices that matters for sequel really.
Custom: This is slightly more complicated, but not really. Here, you can fine-tune things. The "main" LIs (aka house members), the "side LIs", Gorgons vs Fiery Fangs. Yes, for those who didn't like her, Miyuki is still there, either adviser or lady of the house, a title she sort of shares with Oriana in either way. Can you reject all the main (or house members, if you will) LI's? Sure, probably. But don't be surprised if that tosses you right to an ending screen. Not entirely sure, haven't built it yet so depends how annoyed I am on that day.
Only thing I'm not really "allowing" is the character deaths, such as Oriana, Bruce and Kiri (or Tamara for that matter). Rest? Rest is just dialogue, 90% of the time it won't even need separate renders. Now, people have been wanting to merge the Gorgon and Fiery Fangs lines, this might come as a shock but in the original background material/stories that I wrote a long time ago, they both are... let's say allies of the house. Just from two different stories. So even that isn't really a problem. Slightly bigger headache is Xiu and the Fairies, but not that big really.
EDIT: Truthfully, Sorcerer wasn't exactly built a sequel in mind. Let's face it, there were no guarantees that I could continue doing this as is. If majority of the people had been "eh, fuck this, not interested," then there is no real motivation to continue. But as long as people like it? Yeah. I've told stories for a long time, and I will continue to tell them to the day I die. Just how and with what medium depends... I might even return to write books one day for that matter. And in the end, all of this is just writing, sure some things might take update or two more to resolve, but that hardly matters.

It's the same people as the first game .... thus a sequel.
I thought the hag scene was great. Wonder how many people missed out on that because they thought she was ugly.
