Cheating might be what broke you. If this is done like the games I work on, you have to unlock things normally, or you will break something.

Explore everywhere, and follow the hints. You probably need to do something to unlock it. Unfortunately, it's been a while, and I can't remember the details, and I don't know what you have done so far, so I can't say for sure, did you go to the school? I seem to remember that being a thing...
