1. Go to the game folder, then go to the Ren'Py folder, click on the common folder
2. Find the "00console" RPY file (not RPYC) and click it
3. Click find or control F, and type False
4. Click next 3 times until you find
# If true, the console is enabled despite the config. developer being False.
config.console = False

5. Change config.console = False to True
and save

6. Start/ load game. now able to open console command using "shift o" (I believe right key)

Yeah, but steps 1-5 are just changing one word in a text file. There are a lot of steps to using Unren too, starting with having to find and download it. Why use a third party program for something that simple? You literally just have to change one word, the coding equivalent of flipping a switch.

yes. some devs hate their players.

No, but you do have to keep track of it, and make copies of it, and learn how it works, and so on.

I have to disagree, far easier just edit a text file. You don't have to find where you put the other program, no risk of incompatibility or errors, no 3rd party programs, just change one word in a file that is already there.

But, to each their own. You do you.

This is the epitome of grindy games.
People making games like these hates their players more then anyone making anti-cheat games.
Lets choose the talk option and choose "catch up" 5 times for each of the NPCs and then we advance to the next talk option.

When you have over 150tb of hard drives, finding a tiny file can sometimes be a challenge, and doing anything is harder than doing nothing at all. lol
But like I said, you do you. I have less than no interest in using a program do do something I can do in a few sec. This is an example of Occam's razor, the simplest solution is usually the best. The more things the more things you introduce into the situation, the more things can go wrong.

My folder for this site has over 1600 files/folders (and that is ignoring my F95 archive for backups and old files and any sub folders). That is one folder, on one drive. I have almost 20 drives, on two computers. It is very organized, but who wants to mess with other files and programs that are unnecessary?
Even if I know exactly where something is, it can take me a while to get there and find it, sometimes even needing search if it is not something I use all the time and have a shortcut for, and that is something I see less than no value in, so I would lose it easily.
Like I said, I just see no point in using a 3rd party program to change one word in a text file. It makes no sense to me.
But can we please drop this now, this is the thread for this game, not Unren?

As I said, organize better.
I keep mine in:

/mnt/D/games_x/0!tools/unren/

D:\games_x\0!tools\unren\

depending on if linux or windows.
0!tools also contains urm, rpgm save editor, and various other tools I use on games from f95.

It always shows up first before the other games and never gets lost.

Also, you create a false binary of having to mess with files to use unren but not mess with files to use the manual version which is nonsense. manual method requires way more messing with files.

1. navigate to /mnt/D/games_x/0!tools/renpy_enable_console_manually.txt
2. double click it.
3. read instructions then follow them below:
