Out of curiosity: Which are the two better projects exploring the Hogwarts theme?
- Witch Trainer by Akabur
- ???
Innocent Witches (by SadCrab)

(innocent witches is kinda bad imo, a LOT of dialoge and very little NSFW content and practically zero actual sex)

Innocent Witches is an example, it started as an Akabur remake and than turned into something completly different

I would include Lust Academy as an example of a successful (though not particularly great) Hogwarts/Potterverse-themed game. The game's dialogue is pretty mediocre (kind of 'Engrish'), but it has a pretty impressive sandbox setup, and there are quite a few very good (IMO) sex scenes; several of them repeatable. Overall, kind of a 'guilty pleasure' game (again, IMO), but might be worth a look from yv0751 for analysis purposes.

If I recall correctly, I played this early on, and didn't like it too much. Well, I tried again, and this time kinda caught up in it. I think I played until the end section of content; unlocking that last sector and as far as I can tell haven gotten most CG, so seems as good a place as any to take a break.

The visuals are great. The gameplay overall is neat, though the odd interaction can be a bit clunky (opening multiple boxes, checking bot parts, moving bots in/out of storage, those small niggles) but nothing egregious. Upgrading the ship feels nice, getting rich is always good. And making progress with the girls and the girls' uniforms naturally always is good fun. Everything ran smooth and I don't think I had any bug or anything of that sort.

My main disappointed was probably the lack of writing and character interaction. Everything feels very perfunctory - didn't care about the story, but that's no big deal; however, the eroticism of most scenes is kinda underminded when everything is one tone, very short, and basically just some form of "gruntgrunt are we done? yeah okay good". That also meant the crew felt a bit bland; not enough good banter or anything, though there's the odd moment here or there that's a bit more involved.

A smaller one that always bugs me about sandbox(-like) games is that often it doesn't feel like advances in character/relationship/"erotic" development are reflected by older scenes. So everything old stays static and uninteresting instead of ie showcasing how a character has become more lewd or used to it or anything of that sort ... generally I'd like things to be a more dynamic, but I understand that that's a tough and tedious ask and in the end it's not that big a deal.

Lastly, sorta conceptually, about the quests/missions/etc, I kinda wished more of them were more integrated with the different systems. Some are, like when you got to build that infiltration bot, it combines a few different things. But often it's just "we suddenly need this thing!", then you cruise there, and buy it, and that's it. Maybe some (more) times some of the resources should have been needed, or some character might have wanted some specific bot designed for them before agreeing, or maybe something with the crew management ... stuff like that, I think the idea is clear.

I'm sure there were a few more things I liked or didn't along the way but not like I took notes, so that's what I remember atm ^^;

Anyway, good stuff. Looking forward to the rest.

Pretty sure it would be, but if you put it (or anything else for that matter) up against SJX in the SJX thread it will lose badly.

Maybe another vote without SJX?

Hogwarts would be perfect for your tone and style IMO. Though in a school setting with different classes maybe different MCs with different storylines would be nice.
Agreed. I'd imagine in the "The Princess And The Tower"-thread the same poll would favor option 2. Personally hoping for a "classic" HP universe game as suggested here. Option 1 of the poll also sounds like it has a lot of potential. Option 2 would be great if it just didn't have to be goblins again  Have pervy Slytherins take over for this scenario or something like that ;)

Edit: if the goblin thing is actually popular, maybe add optional/avoidable content in a human-centered scenario?

Innocent Witches is dull in every aspect. I'd so love to see y.v.'s HP-themed game. I believe in that case it could be done RIGHT.

I don't like Akabur's so-called gameplay (spend days doing the 'click cycle' to see if anything changed; maybe after X days something will happen. or maybe you broke your game somehow?).

And I despise everything (except art style, obviously) in Innocent Witches, expecially the MC with his fucking grins and haircut, and that gerontophilia. Their game lacks content where it has to be, and the team lack focus. Everybody knows that.
There are many flaws in their design, like the presence of Sonya character, who has a nice body with neat breasts and there are some good looking clothes for her, but she isn't in the plot! The Nola character is another nice-looking girl, but she's lesbian; there is only Ginny, who's a straight-forward slut with just two scenes. And then there is Hermione with those fucking ridiculously big boobs... I can go on and on. Anyway, their graphical style is one of the best, but they managed to do only so much postures. The legs of heroines are half-cutted which is a crime againts those who truly admire women; and those legs are always in the same dull static postures thanks to the flawed game design.

SJX on the other hand is engaging. It's not perfect, but it has gameplay and everything else one would expect from an adult game (without venturing to the paraphilic, extreme, niche or just unnecessary things like bestiality, gerotophilia, futanari and other shit). Just a man with women around him to seduce to.

Also I'd like to point out on the possible misconception in HP-themed products. It's the Slytherins who always do bad and unruly things, just like MC in Innocent Withches. But who actually were bold enough for this? Griffindors. Slytherins are mostly opportunists, not the ones who break rules. It's the Griffindor guy who should seduce and conquer Slytherin and other girls, and not the other way around!

yv0751 Just a random question for hex academy would you be able to use npc's as host's or would you do you something like Danny Phantom, as a quest plot to start as I was confused as to how the ghost protagonist would work.

Just my random two cents about the Dairy Dynasty game at lest for me could be interesting though. I think it may be easier to do if you don't limit your self to just a farming sim you could have rebellions, escapes by the milk maids, even raids by rival farms and have a obvious reason to make your farm grow in profit/reputation (become a Krell pet for example or worse if you keep failing) you could have the sex bots procure breeding resources from male or female clients (with consent that is) from the bot arcades, as you have the character designs and traits from SJX it my help to expand on the races you could encounter for SJX part 2. Just a plot twist option I guess to connect the games if you so wish. As an example the head librarian could be kidnaped by pirates sold off and eventually ends up at your farm where you could make her a breeder or head up your financial and business needs as a way to buy her freedom maybe.
Again just my random two cents as I thought it could be fun

he would probably be more of a familiar than a ghost and he could take on temporarily human form.

I wanted to use that to learn two aspects of Godot or Unity.
- top down gameplay (like the UFO gliding over the rural US landscape, abducting earthlings and maybe doing other mischief...
- idle gameplay simulation loop like a farm sim
So DD would be an ideal game to contain both aspects.
It is supposed to be a lean project, nothing that takes a year so its limited by features in the beginning at least...

Rather than working off of Akabur's Witch Trainer, take a look at Witch Trainer Silver. SIlver is cloned off of Akabur's original game and then adds in a lot of mods. It goes into a lot more character development of the secondary characters such as Tonks and Cho Chang plus a side quest wizardry card game thats simple to play.

As for a second game, I want to avoid looking at other HP universe games so I'd like to propose a look at Pleasuremancer. Decent graphics but the basic plot structure is a Necromancer wakes up from a long period of hibernation and discovers that his powers don't work any more. Through trial and error, he discovers that he can power up through sexual encounters. The gameplay is kludgey but the base plot structure offers an alternate to the HP universe. The MC decides to start up a brothel but starting up a wizarding school in that scenario has a lot of potential.

Play to your strengths. The advantages of SJX are the neat, stylised graphics and the fact that it's actually a game first and the sexual conquests are secondary.

As for the Goblin Rebellion, I was already thinking about it, but Bawunga posted it first. The House Elves have a lot more potential. They're everywhere and working as indentured servants to the wizard community,. Why is that and what do they get out of what appears to be a one-sided deal. They seem to have some sort of underground organization, . . . what is the source of their power and their ultimate agenda?

Sexbot rebellion: Having your infiltrator go rogue seems to be rather limited. If I were looking for antagonists in a gameplay, I would focus more on the Krell, Voron Zealots or the Swarm. The Krell after the disaster at their labs, might try to reverse engineer an infiltrator of their own using bits and pieces of infiltrator tech that they scrounged with the resuilt that their slipshod practices create a rogue infiltrator. The Voron Zealots may try to create a warbot to take down the Krell slave trade and their opponents at the Voron Library. The Swarm might try to create something to infiltrate the other star systems since they seem to have lost control of their last gambit with Vee

Do people really that interested in those ugly creatures? They already have an elf in IW. I mean, elves are extremely important to the HP plot (even if Dobby is nothing but an annoying bastard), but imho they shouldn't have the main focus in an adult parody game. If a game is set in HP universe, then there is Hermione and those pretentious and mean Slytherin bitches (who definetely need to be taught how to be respectful to people), so why would anyone want a sex scene featuring some crossbreed of a dwarf and Gollum?

I believe it doesn't exactly needs to be the SJX sexbots. They could be just any bots. Imagine those in Animatrix but before/without the all-out war, who decided to reach an agreement with humanity using *cough* "another way". And after negotiations fail and subsequent war plunged the Earth into nuclear winter, AI finds that the process of pleasuring humans extensively provides a considerable amount of power.

Something like that just appeared in my head in a minute, and there are thousand of possibilities. I myself voted for Sexbots, because in SJX I very liked their 'personalities' feature. Though it doesn't have any impact except the price, I liked to imagine how those Teachers or Space marines would react during their 'job' in Arcade.

I believe there are always much to explore in any setting, be it HP or any other universe, or SJX, or a new IP.

Anyway,
Which ever game you end up doing I am sure it will be a good one

I mean the original idea was Goblins so them being ugly fuckers actually makes them a better fit... that said I am not thrilled about even more HP stuff to begin with.

The House-elves simply make a bit more sense from a plot perspective, since they're already in Hogwarts and have basically free reign of the place (including the dorms). If they all decide en masse to steal the student's wands for example then that's a pretty easy mechanism for porn plot progression.

With the Goblins it's a bit more difficult. Goblins exist in the HP universe but they seem to be exclusively focused on banking. I guess they could somehow threaten to foreclose on Hogwarts by obtaining ownership of the school somehow but backroom finance is a boring plot starter IMO. On the other hand a horde of Goblins taking over the place with force seems far-fatched, it's supposed to be a school of wizards after all.

Also if you think House-elves are ugly but Goblins aren't, you might be a Goblin.

I'm a Goblin. an ork (the elvish word for a goblin), to be specific. Actually, goblins or any monster in an adult game isn't my thing.
I do find HP elves ugly. HP goblins are ugly too, but in somewhat funny way: I always thought that JKR (or movie makers) made them as a mockery of a certain ethnicity. But don't blame me, it's all her/their doing. As for HP elves, they're not fun, just sad. And OP.
I like how Harry gradually realizes that his relatives aren't that bad, there are people much worse; and that the magic world, as it turned out, is far from perfect. That process of turning the cards justifies elves in the plot. But still, imo, they're too OP and unbelievably underestimated by human magic users, given that elves are often equally, if not more powerful than common magic folk.
Anyway, I only like straight things, I'm avoiding anything that don't look like a human, and I certainly will.
