Was this game just complete before todays update or I thought it was on hold?
If you take a few minutes to read the posts just a bit above yours, you might see that this game is now (and has been for a long while) Completed, in the sense that the main plot and quests are finished, and you can play the story of the game from start to end. The developer is now adding extra content in the form of sidequests and additional content. DLC's so to speak. As far as I know this has been the case for quite a while, and the game has not been "on hold", so the answers to your questions are
no, and
no. The game has not been completed just by today's update, and it has never been on hold recently (it was on hold about a year ago or so for what I've learn, but the game received several new updates since then)
About the controversy for the leaked 2.0 patreon version. It pains me greatly, even more so given that the Public release deadline was just a couple of days away. It doesn't make any sense to do this at this time. But let's be fair. This is a piracy forum. It's first and foremost a site for leaked Patreon and SS content. Nobody should be surprised by the fact that one way or another the content ends up apprearing around here.
yv0751 has been super friendly, and helpful in this thread, and I'm sure there are a lot of people grateful to him for his great job with SJX (myself included). But there is no honor among thieves. This has happened before, and be sure that this
will keep happening, in this thread, and in most other ones (at least in the threads of games that are really worthy, as it's the case with SJX). It is what it is. For a more "civilized" environment we already have P, SS, Itch.io, Discord channels, Reddit...
What I'm trying to say is that this was more than expected, (hell, I'm even surprised it took this long given that the 2.0 Patreon beta release was on December 24-26th, and the final full official Patreon version 2.0_10 released on Jan 7th). It's the very nature of this environment we're on, and it doesn't make any sense to throw a tantrum or be dissapointed about it. I'm the first one that was really eager and looking forward the public bugfixed version of v2.0. I'm downloading my SJX versions now from Itch after doing voluntary donations there for the game since I discovered it, and I totally expect to do it again with the next release that gets published on Itch. But for this forum, hey, just take a look around here. Guess now it's time to wait for that v2.05 release I've never heard about before today
Just make sure to adjust your expectations, chances of the v2.05 (or any other future version) to get leaked here ahead of its public free release is...
high for lack of a better word. Believing otherwise is just fooling oneself.
With this in mind, It's just up to you go out and support the author, be it in his P, SS, with donations, or whatever. Something I strongly recommend doing for keeping this awesome game alive and well...
