Well, I WAS going to let you all know that I had updated my mod again for SJx 1.50.15, which I would be sharing details for, after a bit more playtesting by a few cool SJx fans around here, but it looks like someone jumped the gun here.
So I need to state that my mod is NOT compatible with V2.00 of SJx. I'm guessing that the uploaders wiped all traces of 1.50.15 from the OP. Looks like there's still a link at itch.io for SJx 1.50.15 for those that still want the most recent stable version that was officially released by the developer here:
You must be registered to see the links
I understand quite well that this is a buccaneer forum and all, but as others have noted,
yv0751 has been an active member of this community and regularly answers questions and such.
So while this is not unexpected behavior (someone sharing a beta version before the developer shares a stable version, which he regularly does and as noted would have been within the next week or so), well it is what it is, unfortunately.
In solidarity with the developer, I will NOT be updating my mod to 2.00 anytime soon. Hopefully a compromise can be reached where
yv0751 gives us a stable release of the latest version sooner rather than later.
Well after some cool off I try to see the positive side of it...
- I do not need to update the main thread which is quite a lot of work and
- I save myself the work to merge a bunch of bug fixes downstream to version 2.0 and
- I can focus on 2.05 which is planned for Early Access beginning of February and which is about 70% completed.
Hey man! As I noted above, stuff like this happens, but please don't take it personally. There be a lot of buccaneer types on this forum, so yeah...
The REST of us were patiently waiting for you to release v.2.00 when you were ready, so all I can ask is that you still give us some sort of official release soon. As for any bugs that people find in the V2.00 beta that's been shared here, you could take the stance that 'buyer beware' and that you won't be providing hotfixes for it, and that people should wait for the next 'stable' release.
You had mentioned adding a few of my ideas into V2.00, and I know better than most the amount of work it takes to implement such changes, and I get that you have your own vision of how those changes should look. All of this takes time to playtest thoroughly. I'm mentioning this mainly for the benefit of others here that may not have been following things closely.
So yeah, it is what it is, and the uploaders around here have a lot going on, so I'm not surprised that someone 'jumped the gun'. It's not against the rules, but yeah I'd still like to see an 'official' release for v2.00 sooner rather than later. I get that focusing on V 2.05 makes sense as well. Just keep in mind that you have a lot of fans here, so hopefully some sort of compromise can be reached.

SJx /
yv0751 fans!
Feel free to show a bit of solidarity with the developer, and remind people that the V2.00 release that is now in the OP is a beta version, often.
Unfortunately,
yv0751 would risk losing access to the OP if he tried to remove the beta version, or edit the OP to indicate this, per the 'rules' around here (I have had experience with the F95Zone team members in this regard r.e. my own projects). He could reach out to the mod team to see if a compromise might be reached, but at the end of the day this IS a buccaneer forum, and most of the games around here are shared without the consent of the associated developers. It's the nature of F95Zone.
It's up to
yv0751 as to what's the best use of his time. SJx is a very intricate game with lots of moving parts, and there's a number of things going on at the moment under the hood. I'm just happy that he bothers to spend time here interacting with the members here that love this game, that often aren't paid supporters to begin with.
But we can continue to make
yv0751 feel welcome here as best we can. A few kind words are always nice, and go a long way to making developers feel welcome around here.
Space Journey X is very interesting as sandbox games go, and I wouldn't bother with modding it if I didn't really enjoy this game. Like most games around here, it's not for everyone, but for those of us that love these sort of games, I'm glad that we get to play in
yv0751's sandboxes!
So feel free to share a bit of love for the developer as you see fit! I've had nothing but positive interactions with
yv0751, and I'm sure a lot of you feel the same!
Carry on!
