Thanks yv. I need to be more observant in this game. I stumbled around for days trying to hang the found poster, eventually deciding it was either a "red herring" (game builders often like to throw them in) or a needed quest item furter down the line. I only discovered that rather unintuitive solution by happening upon it in this thread. (Haven't played many quest type games.)
Hint: There is a second poster as well (for the same place ;) )

So I've searched and searched and cannot figure out how to get a precursor cortical unit for the automaton brain (the top center part of the puzzle) in the Beacon of Automatons puzzle. Any advice/help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: I finally got one. I kept resetting a precursor box until it dropped. Lol.

With each beacon you unlock a field where you can mine the things you need to solve the beacon, i think its called the Automaton Fields

how many updates are planned for this? loved it when i first played it through but want to crack on with it all when its all wrapped up.
Game is "complete," but there have been a few content add-ons since (think "DLC expansions," as the game is complete without them). There is one more significant content add-on update expected (2.10), and a discussed wrap-up update which, as I understand it, will mostly be bugfixes and minor changes. When I suggested a few other possible areas for expansion, the dev suggested a possible sequel game, but I'm not sure if that was actually planned/in the works, or if that was merely spitballing on his part. (He could clarify that, I suppose; he's pretty active, here)

Is there any way to upgrade bot shell to higher quality? Nimhe sucks at producing military grade gen 3 bot shells even with max tech skill!

Nothing that I know of.

I simply modded the produced shell grade list to include one more military if Nimhe's skill is 5+ above the requirement, another military and one elite if it's 10+, and removed basic and added another elite if it's 15+.

Sorry, I'm a bit late in answering but...

There are different way to add items using the console.
The two commons are documented in the official walktrough (and are safe to use) but you can add items only one by one.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Use this at your own risk!
And remember to thank and support y.v. for this wonderful game (if you can).
the shell types and cubes dont work for me anymore whould you hapen to know why ?

Started a new game for v2.05_010e, and I haven't seen this mentioned:

After sending T'ris to Nav Class on Iltari Station - you're stuck there.

Previous versions allowed you to continue with missions, mining, or random space encounters; but now MC just says "I better wait for T'ris to return" anytime you attempt to leave the Station. At this point in the game, you have very limited options for progress with Nimhe, Khelara, or Vee while T'ris is absent from 0800 to 1800; and if Vee identifies a "Space Oddity" Swarm event you won't be able to do it after T'ris returns.

IMO this creates a huge disruption to game progress as you "waste" about 6 game hours per training day just "passing time"; and I'm hoping that the same limitation isn't repeated on Arellarti Station for the Pet Training quest.

That was always applicable for Krell space. MC said sth like "I better not leave T'Ris/Moira alone here with the Krell" or the likes.
Gameplay wise that is reasonable for these cases.

I just added T'Ris / Nav Class to the same mechanics as there were issues when players "forgot her" and went their way.

Always thought that for these 3 days MC can build bots or sth. "Auto returning" the ship to the station would feel more disruptive imho. Maybe I could add sth like "T'Ris arrives back from the nav Class with a Courier Drone" but that alseo feels off somehow.

that is in fact the main reason to remain on station while T'ris or Moira are training on arellarti station, as who knows what those toads can do to them is your ship is not seen around, I dont recall having that limit while on nav class on iltari on previous versions, nor noticed on current one at least here

I assumed you had some reasons that I hadn't considered, and for the Krell on Arellarti station that makes perfect sense. Not to be xenophobic, but I really have a hard time trusting those guys . . .

By the Arellarti point in my various play-throughs I had acquired sufficient bot parts and crates to keep myself occupied; and had made it a priority (after my first time playing) to fully upgrade my base, so I spent time getting better at using the drones to keep some trading going.

Obviously, most of my confusion stems from my awareness that we used to be able to leave Iltari Station in previous versions, but I would note that the quest Hint also states that if you're away from the station at 1800, T'ris will rejoin the ship once you've docked. So there may be some ongoing confusion for new players there . . .

My "solution" was to alternate days at the station with missions / mining - but perhaps with the MC's "I shouldn't leave" message he might also note that getting crates (from Nimhe or by search / trade) and making bots might be a good way to keep busy.

I'm somewhat amused that some players could "forget" about T'ris at all, but I completely agree with your impressions that forcing a return to the station, or hiring an interstellar Uber would also feel out of place.

Thanks for the reply, and I'd like to say again: I think you've done a truly remarkable job at crafting a great game!

What could feel just right is her contacting the MC (maybe using Nimhe or BB as the messenger, because the Voron comms are not operational yet) and complaining about being left there. You might even reduce her favor level. This would a) be non-disruptive, as you can pick her up at leisure, b) fit the story and her character pretty well, and c) remind the player about a missing crew member. Of course leaving the system would be impossible without her on board.

Hi y.v. . . I'm not sure if I found another one of those loose ends or not. I was going through the required grind to fulfill the last couple of gallery quests and decided to revisit some of Moira's extracurricular activities. Some of her chat comments hit a cord. She said that she attended Krell University and that all "exchange" students were required to take pet training classes. These along with some of her other statements indicate tha the University and Training Classes were separate Krell institutions. I'm assuming hat she attended Krell University because they offered education and research into areas that were forbidden if not outright banned in the other star systems. Somewhere along the way, she even crossed a line with the Krell that caused them to revoke her pet exemption.

Moira semed eager to join the Bumbling Bee Crew even though she had a much more extensive facility hidden away in the Outer Belt. She obviously saw a distinct advantage o transferring to a more mobile base of operations on a ship that had a reputation of being able to take on anything short of a Battleship or an Armada. I know that there is supposed to be a future quest that somehow involves Vee, but what is her end game.

After all of this background, one of Moira's chats was; "The Krell take their pet training very seriously!" During the entire session, Moira kept referring to the MC as "pet". My question is, who is training who and why?

This along with the knowledge that the the ship has its' very own assault team of Infiltrator bots that apparently will be needed in the future has all sorts of implications, . . .

Give some cubes to the bot in the captain's quarter and read the new dialogues, the ship or something on it is altering the minds of the people on board, that explains why Moira was eager to stay permanently after being a guest. So the ship or BB-2 is actually training everyone, the game also has one scene of BB-2 basically training one crew member behind the protagonist's back. The why is a loose end.

Except that Moira had all of those hidden history issues at Itari, Aratelli and Quthor systems before she ever set foot on the Bumbling Bee. There were reasons why he Krell gave Moira an exemtption in the first place and some other reason(s) that they revoked the exemption. Was it for something that she did or for something that she didn't do?

There are other issues with the Krell system that haven't been addressed yet primarily where are the Krell females? A question was asked in the game as to why the MC was not in Krell Human uniform which indicates that humanoid males are also kept as pets but where are they? Since pet training is required, what does the male pet training consist of? In addition to the illegal cloning labs, do the Krell maintain some sort of breeding pens. What is the Krell fascination with Humanoid lactation products? Is it like booze, or an aphrodisiac or an addictive drug? Do they have Dairy bars in their entertainment districts? Did they establish Dairy Farms? ( Do Xenosians and Nalorans produce blue and green milk? . . . Enquiring minds want to know! )

BB-2 also alerted the MC to the camera monitoring system so BB-2 knows that the MC is able to watch the training system in the Science Bay. A better question would be why was BB-2 keeping it a secret from the female crew members. Setting aside the issues with BB-2, other on-board open issues include:
- What is the purple ceiling light in the Deck 2 Hallway?
- What is coing on behind the force field in the Science Bay?
- Why is the Armory on Deck 3 still unaccessable?
- What is that room that Vee uses as her quarters?
- What is going on with that damaged wall with the strange material sticking out of it in the Cargo Bay?

It seems like every time y.v. answere one loose end, he creates 2 more, . . .

That is answered by Moira in the game and if remember correctly the reason why she studied in Krell space to begin with, too.
