MC can upgrade Gen since V2.10 if his TEC is high enough. The little triangle icon next to the part. You might need some swarm materials for it.
Thanks. I was aware of that.

I just don't bother with upgrading the Gen 1 and 2 parts, mostly due to the fact that once I get to the late game, Gen 3 Mil Grade parts drop like they were free.
I just hold onto the Gen 1 and 2 stuff until my game starts stuttering when I try and open the parts inventory. It usually happens around 400-500+ parts on hand and at that point I start deleting any Gen 1 and 2 stuff that doesn't have the Elite tag on it.

I am not criticizing your play style but we play much differently and both ways work. That is a big plus for SJX gameplay.

Are we going to see combat/victory scenes for the gallery between protectors/infiltrators and enforcers/theives in v2.30?

You might like to hear then that the parts inventory user interface has been optimized and in version 2.30 is about 100x as fast as previously with 1000 parts. Zero perceptible delay. :)
Confirmed by users in the currently running beta :)

Does anyone know how to activate the event " Side Quest: Khelara - The Drengarian Conspiracy " ?
It kicks off with a cutscene of a suspicious moon at night. Requirements are you being in quthor system and you having reached the waystation system (and returned).
The walkthrough in OP should explain it in more detail.

So, I've finally got started on a game in 2.20. As usual, I start fresh from the earliest point in the story, but use the Multiverse pods to act as a New Game+ for it.

I cannot get the Galaxina side quest to trigger at all. Could it be because I have, er, I think I'm up to six Galaxina shells, already, through the Multiverse pods?

No, it is most likely because you haven't met all requirements for the quest yet. I only played 2.20 and I have done the quest with multiple Galaxina shells and bots

Which conditions? I've already watched Galaxina into the reruns, unlocked not just Xenos but Quthor, and I've spent dozens of nights in the Iltari system since then (which should be plenty for the RNG to give it a shot). The only "new" condition I can see in the walkthrough is unlocking Xenos, which I did ages ago; is there another undocumented condition I'm missing?

Did you keep the shell or turn it in?
Not including reruns, How many Galaxina episodes have you seen?

Thanks. The walkthrough doesn't mention the transfer station system.

There is no relation to the amount of shells you already processed. After you have seen all the standard episodes the new ones can be obtained by random events. They are not dependent on each other.
The first one after the reruns you can obtain when you leave the entertainment district in the first star system and are approached by some collector.
Which one you're looking for?

Specifically, I am looking for the Galaxina Shell quest. The one you used to be able to get before you even left Iltarii, but now (according to the walkthrough) you have to wait until after you get into Voron space before it unlocks.

I haven't been offered the chance to collect the shell. At all. So no, I have neither kept nor turned in the shell. That's my problem. I've seen all the "original" episodes; I have yet to get any of the additional ones (though I haven't really been trying for any of them other than the Galaxina Shell one, so far)

I felt that availability of a 50 million Credit shell already in the first system was too early so I shifted the trigger to unlocking of the Xenos system.
Direct trigger is still the news announcement you hear in the first system in the morning on the station

Do you have to be on the station itself to trigger it? Because I've spent about forty nights on my Tenaris base since getting to Xenos (pretty much every night since unlocking the Voron Hyperdrive, unless otherwise required by a quest) and it hasn't triggered. I'm pretty sure I've spent the odd night on the station, too, but not nearly as many.

I think so. Shouldn't take more than two or three nights (or you just roll back)

I think I've triggered it with visiting the station, going to the bar, and going back to ship. Sometimes you get news there, and I'm fairly certain I heard of the theft of the Galaxina prototype that way in at least one of my playthroughs

Okay, I FINALLY triggered it. Took literally over a hundred roll-backs, but I finally got it. I have NEVER had that much trouble getting that quest to trigger, going back to when it was first introduced.

Is there any value trying to do something with IQ 250, Insidious trait cortex? She has 75% escape risk, and I don't understand if there is any upside to such bots?

Add an infiltrator shell to it and add it to the armory (=escape proof). IQ will give a huge boost to unit INT (hacking and fortifying skill in combat)
